Akrathos Beach Hotel

After two years we again chose to stay at the Akrathos hotel. Again, we were thrilled. Many thanks to the entire hotel staff for their excellent care. Everyone was great (main restaurant staff, bar staff, beach staff, housekeeping). A big thank you to manager Edoardo in particular. He creates this great atmosphere. Every guest feels welcome and cared for. We are definitely planning to visit Hotel Akrathos again.

I don't understand why there are so many negative comments. I've been going to this hotel for 3 years now with my family. We are very happy. We had a wonderful time. Where to start? The food is delicious, rich, many choices, the common areas and the rooms are spotlessly clean. The staff at the reception, the service, the ladies in the cleaning department, all with a smile, try to make our vacation more beautiful.

We went all inclusive saved for 6 months for our first holiday together. What a experience, went all inclusive as wanted to avoid extra expenses, Checking in at 1130pm we were delighted to hear there’s additional room tax on 10€ a night per person, yes we knew there would be a room tax but why hide it ?! factor it in to the cost? Great another 140€, on the not so all inclusive. Next day we needed to recharge and deflect from the extra cost and asked for towels as they were included tried to leave a deposit on card but it’s only cash, please can you walk to Atm withdraw money you won’t need and pay us in cash !? Also if you want to change your towels that’s 3€ a change not very inclusive . Ok let’s lick our wounds with a nice local G &T as I’ve researched and know branded spirits aren’t included in the all inclusive. Sorry said the beach bar it’s only beer or soft drinks, so I walked back up to the pool bar to get my G&T again sorry we only do beer, wine and a choice of two cocktails for all inclusive, that’s not very inclusive I see the the bottles but that’s an extra charge on the all not so inclusive, ok losing the will I’ll have a cocktail of your choice from the all inclusive menu of two cocktails, beer and wine ! The evening hallelujah I get my G&T from 6pm onwards 18 hours after I’d checked in to the all but not inclusive hotel, Nice staff, food very average if you like pork, beef liver and pork and chicken drumsticks and pork and chicken drumsticks. The sun was warm the water wet and the inclusive was not inclusive there’s a bar for inclusive where you get a plastic beaker and a bar next to it where you pay and receive a drink in a glass while sitting next to each other didn’t feel like a second class citizen until this week! The entertainment was off the scale !! Saturday night singing and ……tbc The menu for for food looked great but not for all inclusive that’s an extra charge ! Although there’s a wide selection of cake in the pool bar at 1600-1700 ! Great if you like cake ! Inclusion at its best thank you Akrathos we wont ever be back. Clean the glass on poolside so you can see out of it and remove the prison barriers around the pool! Shout out to Edwardo though tried to help and assist as much as he could.

Our vacation in Akrathos Beach Hotel was the most relaxing experience! All the staff in the reception, the restaurant and the bars were very friendly and made our stay really special for us! Our rooms were clean, renovated, with an amazing view. The bed mattress was the highlight of the room; really comfy! The hotel area is full of green, with olive trees everywhere, and a path with a bridge that you can use to go to the beach. They also provide the mini car if you need help going anywhere! The Greek Night on Friday was really fun for us, with live music and dance! Last but not least, Mrs Xenia in the guest relations is always happy to help with any additional excursions and cruises in the area! We totally recommend it and will visit again in the future!

First the good stuff, room was great, we got free upgrade of the room, spacious and with great view to the sea. Now the other side, food was awful, you can taste the cheap products which they use for the buffet food. I also forgot some money in the room and 3 hours later, when I ask them to check they were gone, so be aware for your stuff because they can disappear while you're there as well.

The hotel is nice and the food is really good, but we had issues with the room! This is something I would have liked to know before booking a holiday here, because the rooms are really noisy! The windows and doors are made out of wood, and we could hear everything. We booked a 2-week holiday here, and only one morning we woke up at 9, by ourselves. Every day, we were woken up by people going out of their rooms and cleaning ladies around 7-8 AM. Not something I want to experience during my holiday when I want to rest. In the evening and night, we had the same problem, people talking in the hallway, doors banging... and I cannot blame the people for that, it was because of the very poor noise insulation. During the night, I could hear drunk people shouting from outside (again, with good noise insulation, this would not wake me up in the middle of the night), next door neighbours talking and snoring :( In 2 instances, the cleaning ladies came into our room at 8 AM to clean. This never happened to us when staying at other hotels. We started to put the not disturb sign on the door to prevent this from happening again. I saw someone saying the rooms are outdated for a 4-star hotel, and I agree. It is a shame because the staff were really nice and the food was really good, changing every day!
