The lodge is comfortable and offers a good base for visiting the wonderful surroundings. The room we have been given was spacious, the restaurant offered a decent choice of options and good quality. The personnel was kind and always smiling. Well, almost all of them. I would have happily left a higher mark, if it wasn't for an inexcusable hiccup, to use an understatement, that we experienced at the time of the checkout. We had a walking safari planned for the last morning, with the return at the hotel foreseen for 9AM. The day before we asked at the reception if it was possible to have breakfast after 9AM and still be allowed some time to get back to the room for a shower and for packing our bags before checkout. We received a positive reply, and so we did. Breakfast took us a little over 30 minutes. Ten minutes past ten, an unpleasant and impolite middle-aged blonde woman, which I would refer to by name if she had offered us the courtesy of introducing herself, possibly the manager or the owner, knocked insistently at our door telling us that the checkout time was past due (we were 10 minutes late, according to the rules of the house), and that there were guests arriving who needed urgently the room, so we had to vacate the premises as quickly as possible. Note that up until then we were the only guests in the whole lodge. Her extremely disagreeable behaviour affected the last moments of our stay, making it become our main memory of that lodge.
