Premier Inn Cardiff City South

The good point about this hotel was the convenience to the city centre. The rest of our experience was not positive. On arrival there was noone on reception, they were outside the front of the hotel smoking cigarettes. We were waiting a while before they came back in. They then proceeded to moan about not having breaks and ignored us. They smelt strongly of cigarette smoke. The smell of cigarettes was in the corridors as we walked to our room. The room was unbelievably hot and the only fan provided was a tower fan that did turn, was extremely dusty and you couldn't feel any air from it. Only 1 towel supplied when two people were staying. The carpet had seen better days and there were suspect marks on the ceiling above the bed. On our return to the hotel after being out for the evening then room was hotter than ever. We saw a fan in another room that had the door open so swapped our fan, however this was also inadequate. We tried to sleep but both felt ill. We tried to run the taps to get cold water but the water was warm. We went to reception to ask for some cold water, they gave us two bottles but charged us for them. The staff were just rude and uninterested. We ended up leaving in the early hours of the morning. We always book premier inns as they are usually reliable with amazing staff and usually reasonably priced. This was over £300 for the night and well below the usual standard. Would not recommend and certainly won't be returning.

Beds are always amazingly comfortable. WiFi was fast. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Price was reasonable. Definitely would recommend staying here

We stayed at Premier Inn Cardiff South for two nights and had a very positive experience overall. Although we initially had some trouble with our booking (which wasn’t Premier Inn’s fault), Luke at the front desk was absolutely fantastic. He was friendly, polite, and incredibly helpful from the moment we arrived. Luke went above and beyond to assist us and make sure everything was sorted, which made a huge difference to our stay. It’s clear he’s a hardworking and dedicated member of the team. Thanks to his efforts, our visit was smooth, comfortable, and pleasant. Highly recommend this location, especially with staff like Luke around—he truly made us feel welcome
