Staff where very friendly and super helpful.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Clifton. The owners and staff were amazing. Our room was their suit on the third floor was spacious and comfortable. Our included breakfast was delicious. Great location minutes from the sea and downtown area, easy to get around. Highly recommend a stay at the Clifton ❤️

Eight of us called in for breakfast on the way to the Great North Run. We were only spectators. Superb service. Excellent food. Very helpful staff. Definitely worth a visit. Plenty of choices on the vast menu. Coffee was excellent. I deffo will call again when up In the area

Scott & Liz are fantastic hosts, going above and beyond for their guests. The hotel is conveniently located for all amenities, with plenty of restaurants and bars on your doorstep. It’s beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. There are 2 lovely parks 1 min walk and the beach can be reached within 5 min walk. Breakfast was awesome.

Friendly welcome, spotless room with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast has a good selection, freshly cooked and very tasty. Situated close to town centre, with bars and restaurants as well as a short walk to the sea front. Have stayed on several occasions and have never had any problems or issues. It is always nice to be remembered, thank you !

Just returned home from a 3 night stay. Welcomed by a nice lady who showed us how to use the keyless system then we were left to it. Our room was a superior on the 1st floor, easy to get to up a few steps. The room was average sized with a fairly comfortable bed and a nice sized shower. Unfortunately 2 mornings the water was cold. I don't mind a cool shower but many won't. A few niggles. The back of the wall on the toilet unit had a golf ball size hole in it which was sharp, and there were the odd cobweb. Only 2 portions of milk and one ginger biscuit (at least leave 2) Nothing to write home about. The bed was comfortable and there were nice big windows that could be opened to let the world in. A fan, hairdryer kettle etc and there was Netflix & a Google smart speaker which was very handy. Excellent location and yes, it can be a bit noisy but it's on a main street. The smells were amazing coming from all the restaurants. There was a little bar which the owners state could be utilised for a drink if you ask but I think they may be missing a trick by not using it as a selling point? Parking is plentiful around the place, the most you have to walk is a few yards ( and I have a blue badge). Thanks for having us Overall a lovely stay. Thank you

The decor and layout won't be to everyone's taste, but the staff have a real 'can do' attitude and the breakfast is excellent. Located directly on 'Curry Mile' but we were pleasantly surprised that there was no significant late-night noise to disturb our rest. Note that there are no keys (traditional or plastic), access is via numbered keypads.

Just had breakfast here and it was absolutely amazing. The staff are really good and nothing was to much trouble. Couldn’t decide what to have so they recommended having half of the avocado smash and half of the miner’s breakfast. The breakfast reminded me of New York breakfasts, yes it was that good. Didn’t stop there just had breakfast, but it looks like a really lovely stylish hotel. Great food and staff and my daughter paid ! Will definitely be back

Lovely hotel and close to everything. Check in was straight forward and staff very helpful. Room was excellent with everything you would need. On a very hot and humid night the fan was much appreciated. Some friends joined us for breakfast the next morning and again everything was lush. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend
