Premier Inn Solihull (Hockley Heath, M42)

A nice quiet and comfortable hotel with friendly staff. A well organised restaurant with a freshly cooked as much as you can eat breakfast.

Nice hotel, great location for Birmingham Airport allowing you to take advantage of the new road layout leading to the airport. Helpful staff and nice very clean rooms. The restaurant and bar is exactly what you expect from a Premier Inn, clean, reasonably priced and friendly staff. We’ve already booked for our next flight out of Birmingham.

I have always found premier inn to be basic but good and clean and value for money. On this trip though I was left feeling nauseous about the whole experience. Firstly was the disgusting amount of someone’s beard that had completely blocked the sink. How could the person cleaning not have noticed? I was physically sick as I used a spoon to dig out the hair so I could brush my teeth. It didn’t get much better whe. We went for food at the attached restaurant. The tables were sticky, years of muck and grime collected in the ridges, dead flies and dust on the window sill next to us, the seats were badly stained. My husband started sneezing and went to get some paper from the toilets to find there wasn’t any! It was just grubby throughout, massively disappointing for a premier inn. Not what I have come to expect at all.

Great stay last week, been refurbished since I was last there which is a massive improvement, clean and tidy good location and staff where great, also have to mention Louis from the restaurant who went above and beyond to make sure my experience in the restaurant was good

My daughter had an interview to go to so, as we live in East Sussex we decided to sleep the night before so we would be fresh for the following day. The area it’s in is very pretty and quiet. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. The room was clean and comfortable and was very calming. Ticked all our boxes and had a lovely night sleep so we were in the right frame of mind for the interview the following day.

Ok I am a seasoned Premier Inn visitor however as someone else has commented this is a visit of two halves . Lovely staff and a modern refurbished clean comfortable room . BUT closing down the Beef eater is a huge error , the eating area is now a soulless grubby experience . There was one member of staff who was booking people in, waitressing and pouring drinks, she was lovely but the whole experience felt down market, dirty and shabby .The outside of this Premier inn is also very very scruffy and I felt like leaving straight away. Premier Inn what are you thinking of you have lost your way . Eating is part of the experience and I do not want to feel as if I am eating in a third world country with poor lighting and filthy carpets . I won’t be back however nice the rooms are . It would be better to shut the restaurant down as in the end this ill thought out business plan will ruin your company’s reputation.
