Acostumbrado a otros hoteles por Reino Unido, no está entre los peores. Habitación limpia y baño grande (nada que ver con otros en los que he estado por allí). La ducha bastante amplia. Queda lejos del centro de Inverness, si es que la intención del viaje es pasar tiempo en la ciudad pero para pasar un par de noches y recorrer desde allí otros puntos de las Highlands no está mal. Nosotros solo bajamos una tarde a Inverness y llevábamos coche por lo que no nos supuso mucho problema la distancia. En el bar/pub la cerveza fresquita y a precio razonable.

We had a great time here. Peter, the proprietor, was kind and very helpful. As we are all a little older than we once were, he made sure our luggage was taken to and from our room. He gave excellent suggestions for locations to visit. Of the three locations we stayed at in Scotland, this by far had the most helpful and friendliest staff. The breakfast got us on our way every morning. The dinner on our final night was very good. I would recommend this hotel whole heartedly.

Nice clean room, very very comfy bed. The host was the perfect level of friendly. Breakfast was good and so was evening meal, although a bit limited for a veggie. The only real drawback was the noise from the bar and also outside, which could be easily heard from our room and kept us awake. I would certainly go back, but maybe not on a Friday and Saturday night.

Having read other reviews here we were hoping for a good nights stay. This wasn’t to be the case. The dated appearance of the building outside, is not helped by the thousands of cigarette ends lying outside. First impression suggests a place where no one cares. The room appeared comfortable enough but it soon became apparent that we would not have the restful night we had hoped for. At 3.45 pm in the afternoon I first asked the barmaid if she would turn the music volume down in the bar. We could hear it very clearly and my concern was that if that was the afternoon, it would be much worse at night. I asked a further twice and basically was told she didn’t see what the problem was. At night, the noise was worse. This is a place where no one cares and we won’t be back. Shame as we’re frequent visitors to Inverness.

The Smithton was the meet up point for a fantastic tour of Sacred Scotland (cf Gothic Images Tours). While it required a taxi to arrive from Inverness town, the Smithton served our group’s purposes perfectly. The rooms are well appointed and the food is delicious. The manager & staff simply could not have been more accommodating (or hard working!). Don’t miss the delightful back yard if you need a breath of fresh air. There is a path for walking or running just out the back gate.

Stayed for 1 night while touring NC500 and found the place close to shops and restaurants. Didn’t eat dinner but had a good breakfast. Staff are amazing and very welcoming. Room was small but super comfy. Has EV charging as well which is great.

On arrival the building could be doing with a tidy up.... but inside a very friendly young lady welcomed us. She gave us lots of information and the most important was on buses into town - Great service too late bus home about 11.25pm Saturday night The room was clean and cosy, bed very comfortable. Ensuite was roomy, shower good. Peter was a very attentive host especially during the lovely breakfast we were served, nothing was too much trouble :-) Loads of parking in hotel grounds, which is on a quiet residential estate. Never was bothered with any noise from the Bars downstairs, did go in for a nightcap. Taxi into town was ordered by hotel and cost about £13 was there in 10mins.

Smithton is a great base to explore Inverness. Staff are so friendly and accommodating, nothing is too much trouble. Rooms are well appointed with great bathroom and shower. Lovely breakfast with menu choices and evening meals available in hotel. Highly recommend

2 Night stay for business. The room was really clean, bed was comfy enough and the staff were friendly, it looks rough from the outside and some of the punters in the last chance saloon are a bit dodgy looking but its ok. I was in the end room 9 which wasn't great as its above the entrance to the bar and you could hear the smokers rattling on beneath you champions league night and then punters trundling up the stairs next to you through the night. I missed the breakfast which I've heard is good.
