This was the 3rd visit to KBS. The previous visits to the suites were great, designated breakfast area, occasional sparkling wine offered but the best reason for paying more for the suites is the access to the infinity pool, a haven of calm tranquility, away from the hustle and bustle of the main hotel area.. or... it used to be. This visit saw the infinity area with a fair number of people who don't understand quiet pool etiquette.. Loud, piercing voices and raucous laughter from groups , towels on empty sunbeds which didn't see a body on them for ages, playing music, not through personal headphones but phone or small speakers so we all had to share their musical tastes in 1950s rock n roll and a female couple getting intimate in the pool and whipping off their tops to sunbathe (very 1970s) A very different experience and one, which sadly, we won't repeat. The refurb at KB seems to have encouraged a very different feel to what was previously a real haven, even the pillows were as hard as bricks, not sure what the filling was but so heavy, I needed 2 hands to chuck it on the floor. However the staff, as on previous visits were excellent, friendly and willing.
