Praise the staff, working hard on this weather ( 34C) doing all the best to accommodate everyone. The owners of this business, need to align with the customers though and needs: There are no excuses to patronise the opening hours for the swimming pool: 10 am- 6 pm. No need for that. Second cons is confusion for the daily basis food buffet. How nicely it will be to have it displayed in advance for the following week. 3 stars accommodation, includes a poor wifi signal to our room, however was beaten by the sea view. A very small maintenance reported, to the best ever receptionist Sofia, has been sorted out by minutes… Thank you ever so much for giving us the heads up about the tourist area, as well. Bar & restaurants staff very friendly and professional.

My partner and I had a fantastic holiday at this hotel! The view from our room was truly breathtaking! Staff were so friendly. Room was nice and clean and our balcony was big. The food was surprisingly delicious - every breakfast, lunch and dinner there was something that we enjoyed. The drinks were limited, however we thoroughly enjoyed the Crete wine. The pool was lovely and even with the daily sunbed wars - we always managed to get a sun lounger. The hotel shop was a massive convenience and had your basic essentials there. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel and it is a quick 30min drive on the bus in to the stunning Rethymno. The price for this is €2 and tickets can be bought from the reception. The reception staff are full of knowledge and so helpful, giving you advice on where to explore and how to get there. If you are wanting a nice chilled holiday - this is a perfect place to stay!! Thank you very much for a great stay!!

Food is uneatable, rooms are appalling, there are no shops or entertainment. There is one restaurant nearby but don't take your wife or daughters as the old man that runs it follow them to the toilets and tries to grope. The staff never seem happy that you might actually want to disturb them for a drink. If you like milk for tea, coffee forget it.the transfer is hell on earth, overall after 2 days I was looking for flights home. Do NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

We had a great time at Scalatea beach hotel for our honeymoon! Our flight landed at 8.30pm and our coach transfer ended up being longer than anticipated so we didn't get to the hotel until midnight. We where very tired and hungry. The receptionist was lovely and said they saved us a plate of cold food as thought we would be hungry which was lovely of them. The food was ham, cheese, Cucumber, tomatoes, boiled eggs and bread with a glass of water. We thought that was really thoughtful. The room, hotel and pool was clean, beds where comfy, staff friendly and just a lovely hotel. The only down side is that we went all inclusive and the drinks where only between 11am - 10pm. Then you had to pay and was around €5 a pint or €10 spirit and mixer. We spent all our money on being all inclusive so we didn't have to worry about paying so come 10pm we coukdnt have anything else to drink. This was advertised on the website that there's a time limit on drinks. Food was lovely but limited options. Unless you love salad and fruit. Even though it's an adult only hotel thought we might have had a bit of entertainment rather than you tube music playing behind the bar. When we checked out we got a lovely little thank you gift (crete magnet) which again was thoughtfull. It's the little touches that made the trip beautiful. If the food options where better and all inclusive drinks where from breakfast until later at night we would give 5 stars.

We booked this holiday last minute as a quick break away so wasn't really expecting much, especially from previous reviews. But had a really nice time. Hotel was dated but in a traditional greek style, loved the quirkiness of it. Very peaceful, and the views were just beautiful especially the sunset. we weren't lucky enough to have a sea view, probably with only booking last minute but that didn't spoil anything. There quite a few steps so wouldn't suit anyone with mobility issues. Food wise there wasn't much choice, a couple of the meals were lovely, some not as much, though the salad bar was good. We did catch the bus into Rethymno and Panorama for just 2 euros a time. For anyone wanting a very peaceful relaxing break i would recommend.

We stayed for a week in July 2025. On arrival we were a bit apprehensive because of some of the reviews we had read. The place was beautiful. with nice food and friendly staff. The views were better than anywhere and the pool was amazing. Not too far from the beach and easy for the bus into Rethmynon. The All inclusive we thought was good. There is no Gin or Vodka included though. Just local spirits. There's beer and wine and plenty of soft drinks. The rooms were very clean and similar to other Greek style so we didn't have any complaints. There's also a nice little shop in the hotel and a couple of Tavernas near the beach. We thought it was lovely and had a really nice stay :-)

We knew this was going to be a cheap and cheerful one but there were so many disappointments: the beds are awful, and asking for extra pillows and sheets wasn’t acknowledged. The hotel itself is up high in the middle of nowhere with no entertainment or excursions, so you need to be up for renting a car and tackling the crazy roads. There is a beach, but no loungers, services etc that aren’t reserved for other hotel guests. The food was really bland and repetitive, the drinks are served in the smallest glasses and there’s such limited options drinks wise in the all inclusive. We ate out a lot more than we’d planned to and brought far more snacks and ice creams form the hotel shop than we ever have before. The only redeeming features were the pool and great weather, but they can only take credit for the first. And, they limit the pool hours to 10:00-18:00, why?! Fab if you intend to just laze by the pool All day every day, but otherwise avoid like the plague.

We stayed here for a week at the beginning of June and were very satisfied. The room had perhaps the most beautiful view we've ever had. The staff was friendly, the food was good. Everything was in order. We recommend it.

TLDR: ring went missing/was stolen, air con caused me to get severely ill, beds are genuinely awful - but food was decent, and the local beach was fab (at a cost with sun bed) // Hotel: hotel is basic and clean. No issues with actual hotel facilities as it has a shop on site which is useful Room: the room caused awful issues. Air con blows dust around so if you have allergies, please bear that in mind. Bed is not pleasant at all, as much as I loved being on holiday, I was also massively excited to go back to my own bed. Hard and springy The rooms were cleaned every day, but my ring was removed (or swept away) from the bundle where I kept it with my other rings. When I asked reception, they said if it is in the bin then I should just forget about it. Hugely disappointed as it was sentimental, but then it was my own fault for not leaving it at home! Food: food was decent tbh, defo doable for a week stay - some repeating food items but all in all it was pretty decent - don’t have any issues here. Hotel is a four minute walk away from a beach - 5€ to pay per sun bed used between 10:00-18:00, and there is a 30 min bus ride to Rethymno which is useful as well for a day out. I would not stay here again, nor recommend it. If it wasn’t for the local beach and food then this place would’ve received 0 stars from me. Please look else where
