It smells terrible of a canal in the common areas. The private beach to the apartments is not separated into a children's area and an adult area. Most families seem to use apartments and in the more expensive part you don't get the peace and quiet you want for relaxation. It's expensive on the beach, they serve beer in cardboard cups, which is unacceptable. This place is far from offering the conditions of a 5 star hotel. We were in this hotel for 6 days and they never refilled shower gel and bathroom supplies. We were very disappointed.

My family and I truly love the Meliton Hotel – we’ve been regular guests for many years. The Porto Carras complex is huge, with countless facilities and options. It has everything one could need for a pleasant vacation. The entrance is impressive, and only hotel guests are allowed to enter the complex, which adds a feeling of safety and exclusivity. There’s a large parking area with both covered and open spaces, and it’s free for hotel guests. The lobby and reception area are spacious, nicely decorated, and air-conditioned – just enough to make it pleasant to stay inside. The rooms are spacious, with enough space for suitcases and a large terrace (ours had a perfect sea view). The beds are comfortable, and the rooms are well soundproofed, so you’re guaranteed a good night’s sleep. Yes, the furniture is a bit dated, but everything is clean and well maintained, which is more important to us. The restaurant is also enormous (just like everything else in this hotel), nicely decorated, and there are even three terraces where you can enjoy the sunset with enough tables available, even when the hotel is full. I really like the concept of themed dinners – every night there is a different cuisine on offer (Greek, Italian, Mexican, Asian, etc.), so you have the opportunity to try something new, which my family and I really enjoyed. Yes, the restaurant can be a bit noisy and crowded, but the hotel is huge and accommodates a large number of guests – and when it’s full, it’s impossible for everything to go smoothly during mealtimes (with so many people). However, guests who choose this kind of hotel should be aware of that. It didn’t bother us at all – I personally enjoy a lively atmosphere. The important thing is that the staff go out of their way to keep the buffet well-stocked, and we never felt that anything was missing or unavailable. The beach is perfect – clean, beautiful, with plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas, and everything is spaced out, so guests are not cramped. The beach bars play great music. Even around 10 a.m. in high season (end of July), we were still able to find free sunbeds, so the usual comments about guests “reserving” them early simply aren’t true – there’s more than enough capacity. This year, the WiFi was excellent – even on the beach and throughout different parts of the hotel. The staff are kind and always try their best to assist guests with a smile. A special thank you to Mr. Marios Tzaninis – he is excellent in guest communication, and we exchange messages every year before our arrival. High recommendation for the hotel !

We arrived and the outside of the Reception looked impressive. Unfortunately it became obvious this was not a five star Hotel. Having said that you can tell it was really something in its day. We were all Inclusive and I have to say working out what you could have and not have , whether it was drinks or food was confusing. We also were made to feel like second class citizens, I'm sure if we were paying for the exobortent prices for a bottle of Heineken, which by the way is not included in the all inclusive package. The variety of food in the main Restaurant was good, but just cold. It is in a beautiful setting and some of the staff were kind and helpful, others were absolutely rude. I enjoyed seeing the children enjoying themselves. All in all we will not be returning and think Jet 2 should rethink the four star plus

This is not a 5 star hotel. The service and entertainment was appalling. The food in the restaurant was cold and so called snacks included in the all inclusive were poor if you could find a member of staff to serve you. Paid for 5 star received 3 star

The best hotel for families with kids. Food is exellent, hospitality is on highest level. The girls from enetertament team Sorcha, Ruby, Bogdana, Lucy, Julia were outstanding. The best team so far at this hotel. This is our third time here and we will come back again

We travelled with Jet 2 and spent the first week of October in the Porto Carras Meliton Hotel. After we had booked the holiday we read some disappointing reviews, but our own experience was very different and we felt that the less favourable reviews were unfair. It is a long transfer from the airport, but once we arrived, it was a beautiful, quiet and peaceful location and made for a very relaxing stay. The weather was perfect and apart from the weekend, the hotel was relatively quiet, as it was only two weeks away from closing for the winter. Everywhere was spotlessly clean, inside and out, including the beach. Sun loungers were plentiful and spread comfortably around the two pools, although they were a little too cold to tempt us in. The rooms and beds were comfortable. We were surprised to receive a couple of complimentary items, a bowl of fresh fruit and a bottle of wine were waiting for us in the room on arrival and a plate of pastries were brought up one evening as well. The food in the main restaurant was excellent, plentiful and varied. There was something for everyone and it didn't matter whether you were the first or last to dine, you would have the same choice. The Marina piazza restaurant was closed but we ate a la carte at the seaside restaurant (not all fish, varied menu) and the News Room restaurant, which was excellent. The delicious food was beautifully presented and attentive service. The staff were helpful and friendly, a special mention to Elsa in the dining room, who greeted everyone with a smile every day and was always pleasant and cheerful, nothing was too much trouble. There was evening entertainment, unusual for late in the season and a small selection of shops to browse in which were not expensive. All in all we would happily recommend this hotel and enjoyed our holiday there.

Firstly please ignore the negative reviews, we have just returned from a fabulous week at this resort, the staff could not do enough for us from drink on arrival, bottle of wine & tray of fruit in our spacious room. We had booked a golf view & was pleased to be upgraded to a pool/sea view. The food was excellent especially the News cafe Al a carte, plenty of choice in the buffet restaurant. We highly recommend this hotel. Thank you to all staff

Overall the entire resort needs some deep cleaning and reconditioning: bathrooms are old, furniture is old and loud, smell on the hallways are horrific, only one elevator was working and the mozaic inside it was chopped or missing- definetly not 5 star aesthetic! Outdoor pool is cold, and basically you dont have acces to any other facilities of a 5 star hotel. If you want to acces the indoor pool( which btw is rusted) is 10 euro, sauna ( located inside a wc) 10 eur. What are the facilities then? The Marina is absolutely wonderful, but is not because of the hotel administration. The services are something to run from. Ms Malamatenia and her boss are awful! The entire staff is terified of them. We organised an event for a few hundred people and their service and organising skills were awful as well as presentation and the service itself. They shouldnt be in charge of corporate events for sure. The conference room is big but not customizable: the scene provided was bad, the technician was hiding from us, bad lighting, and they have all sorts of policies not to move anything around- even if it was agreed and approved prior event. The service in Athos restaurant was dissappointing: food was cold, limited options ( breakfast and launch were all the time the same) but even so, the service was the worst. The waiters were completely ignoring us or arriving late with the drinks if you were under a package. If you would pay for extra drinks they would even dance around. I will avoid in the future and recommend the same.

Surround areas really run down. Hotel nice entrance but lift not working .. rooms need updating ( beds are nice) staff not overly helpful. Not everything all inclusive… be warned 5€ each eu visitors tax on top… cleaner and gardener all start at 7am and loud lol food ok
