Hotel Ideal Sirmione

I'd just like to leave this review to express our gratitude firstly towards the lovely lady on reception. I believe her name was Sasha? From the moment we arrived we were greeted with a warm welcome, given a complimentary upgrade to a beautiful room with a wrap around balcony offering stunning views of the lake. On our second night, my partner proposed to me and upon arrival back at the hotel I was so over the moon that I told Sasha. Within 10 minutes there was a knock on our door and a bottle of prosecco on ice was gifted to us. This kind of service cannot be bought. Thank you for this kindness 💗 More hotel reviews; ✨️ Room - albeit not the most modern, it was cleaned daily, fresh towels, clean bedding and floors wiped. Can't complain at all. My only constructive feedback would be to have more pillows on the bed as there is only 1 per person and it isn't the most comfortable. If you like a firm mattress, this bed is for you. ✨️ Location - Perfect! Situated up a hill its perfect to walk into the busy part or have peace and quiet away from it. Very close to Jamaica beach, a 5 minute walk downhill. If mobility is a problem, for €1.20 PP, you can use the little land train up and down the hill towards the castle until 18:30 each day. ✨️ Breakfast - ideal if you like continental with a small amount of hot food (egg & bacon). Fresh machine coffee too. Lots of nuts in breakfast items so if you have an allergy you'd be best sticking to the toast, boiled egg and tomato like I did 😋 ✨️ Pool - there is a swimming pool with loungers for you to use. Late September and it was cool but not ice cold, you could take a swim comfortably. ✨️ Lake Access - down lots of steep steps you can access a tiny area where you can take a swim. Take Swim Shoes as the walk out into the lake is VERY slippery due to algea on the rocks. You have to walk a distance before the rocks drop and you are deep enough to swim. Very clean and clear water, warmer than the pool! ✨️ Value - I feel this hotel offers a very reasonable value for money and I absolutely would stay here again Thank you once again, Chloé & Gareth 💍❤️🫶🏼✨️

We had the very best time at Hotel Ideal. As a couple of mature ladies, we wanted somewhere quietish, calm, clean, well appointed and friendly. And we got it all in spades. Initial communication was great and we rang them with our hire car registration number as soon as we picked it up so had no problems getting into the restricted part. Yes, driving through the narrow streets filled with tourists is definitely an experience but just adds to the whole trip. We had a super friendly welcome from Sebastiano, check in was smooth and our rooms were lovely, clean and the beds were super comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful, all the staff are very very friendly and efficient. We tried the locally produced wine which we recommend. We were able to relax completely as the hotel is just far enough out of the main drag, and it's a 10min walk into town. Watching the sunset across the lake with only the sparrows for company is special. Whilst it was a little too cold to experience the pool or the beach, both looked lovely. We had the very best time and cannot recommend this hotel enough.

I’m glad that we stayed. Driving through the sea of tourists in Sermione is something that takes nerve (and a small car, patience and some skill). My kids have never seen crowds like it. Luckily Hotel Ideal is situated away from the bustle. Views are fantastic. Breakfast on the terrace with the olive trees was lovely and quiet too because the tourists had yet to come that far up the peninsula. The ruins of a villa which is a stones throw from the hotel are definitely worth a visit. The Jamaica beach isn’t exactly a Sandy beach but the kids enjoyed playing on the rocks. The room was dated but spotlessly clean. Probably because it smelled like a gallon of bleach has been used as disinfectant. Beds and pillows were adequate. View of the lake and ruined villa was spectacular. We enjoyed the stroll to and from town but it is a 10-15 minute walk (slightly uphill on the way back). Sebastian at the front desk is a gem and couldn’t do enough to help and his recommendations were spot on. It was the most expensive hotel on our week long trip and probably the least favourite for all of us. But we were paying a premium for being in Sermione and booking a quad room in August. It was still worth it for the experience.
