When I initially booked the accommodation, I was quoted a price in British Pounds. However, after confirming the booking, the owner contacted me directly and requested an upfront payment before travel. I paid the requested amount, and I have the receipt to support this transaction. Upon checkout, I was shocked to discover that the amount was being recalculated in US Dollars, and an additional payment was charged to a different business name. This inconsistency in pricing is both confusing and concerning. Additionally, I am deeply concerned about a breach of my data protection rights. The owner shared my personal details with the manager without my authorization, and this resulted in an unexpected charge to my account. Furthermore, my experience at the property was far from satisfactory. The owner, Suzanne, was exceptionally rude, and the staff, particularly Cleopatra, were unprofessional and unhelpful. During my stay, I was told not to use the TV, as it would disturb the neighbors, and was advised to speak in whispers. Additionally, I was only allowed two guests to visit, which felt restrictive and unnecessary. In the three weeks I spent there, my room was changed once, and I was required to do all the cleaning myself despite being charged for a cleaning service. This was not what I expected from a service I paid for in advance. Given the unpleasant experience, I am extremely dissatisfied and would not recommend this property to anyone, especially for a long-term stay. I had planned on returning to Barbados for four months each year, but after this experience, I will not be considering Ocean Bliss Apartments again.
