Atha Resort

The staff are extremely friendly and hospitable. The food was amazing, particularly the Sri Lankan Curry and complimentary breakfast (which included servings of juices, fruits, breads & traditional Sri Lankan food that changed each morning). We definitely recommend staying here.

Atha Resort is a fantastic small hotel with incredibly helpful staff and manager, all of whom will do almost anything to make your stay more enjoyable. We stayed here for a couple of nights on a B&B basis and the breakfast was lovely as was dinner which was very reasonably priced. The rooms are very lovely and the bed very comfortable. The hotel had a decent size swimming pool with comfortable sun beds along one side - a great place to relax after a morning safari. If you are visiting the Sigiriya area this hotel is definitely worth considering.

From the moment you walk through the front gate, this place feels very special. The pool is the focal point set in beautiful tropical gardens. Our rooms were very comfortable with good air conditioning. However, the staff are what really make this resort. Without exception, they were very helpful and attentive. On our final day, I sprained my ankle coming down Sigirya Rock. The staff provided me with some ice and were very caring. The food is fabulous - good value, beautifully presented and very tasty. On our last night, we ordered the chicken curry which took an hour and twenty minutes to prepare but it was well worth the wait - one of our best meals in Sri Lanka. Thank you for a wonderful stay - we will remember Atha Resort with great fondness for years to come.

we had 2 nights in this beautiful boutique hotel, super location, beautiful garden, modern building with pleasant covered terrace for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The staff was great, super attentive and very accommodating! we fully recommend Atha resort to complete this beautiful trip in Sri Lanka! Keep it up I would say 😉 Y & S 🇧🇪

Excellent small boutique hotel near Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Consists of separate villa-type rooms, with a garden and pool view. Both the rooms and bathrooms were well-cleaned and maintained. Have an in-house menu for the meals and the food is excellent with both Sri Lankan and foreign varieties. The staff is very attentive and always helpful for your needs. If planning to visit Sigiriya staff would accommodate an early breakfast to take out. Prices are very reasonable and fully worth the price.

A beautiful place to relax. I could write a lot about how beautifully situated the place is, but it is above all the hotel staff who create the perfect complement to the whole. Special thanks to the manager/receptionist, whose calmness and friendliness was shared with us. We have not encountered such professional service anywhere, and we have travelled quite a bit. The two young waiters served our table to the highest standard. The meals were excellent and varied. Many thanks to all the staff for a fantastic time!

Had most wonderful time here, had 3 night in this most beautiful hotel. The staff were outstanding, kind, caring and helpful, the food in the hotel was so tasty and very interesting so pleased with what we had. The pool area was relaxing and so clean. The gardens are beautiful. The room we had was a more traditional Sri lakan room with stunning views of the beautiful landscape. The manager in this hotel was so helpful and his team were brilliant, we would return to this hotel, thank you all for great stay.

Wow what a find. We wanted a base where we could stay whilst going to climb Lion Rock (a must do if you don't mind heights). Atha Resort is a small hotel only 7 minutes car journey away from the rock. The hotel is made up of outdoor communal areas and individual outbuildings for rooms. From the moment we arrived to leaving the staff couldn't do enough. The service was great. The rooms were lovely and private and I think each had a balcony and air con. The hotel pool was a great outdoor space and a nice size. There was also a small poolside bar, which was open whilst we were there. The highlight was the food. So tasty and beautifully presented with so much pride, even the breakfast was a work of art! Next time I'll definitely stay for 2 or 3 nights and sample more of that menu!

Nice location, the modern design of the cottages surrounded by tropical forest, good pool, open air restaurant, very close to Sygiria rock, friendly personnel, big breakfast. Though some small, but important things can be taken into account for improvement: - missing some extra furniture in the room: no side tables by the bed, so you need to keep your book/phone/a glass of water on the floor; some extra bench or a chair in the room would be nice in order to put a bag or clothes on it, but not on the floor; - power plugs were of British standard, so extra adopters needed; - not a very good isolation between the rooms, so you can hear the neighbours above talking and walking early in the morning or at night; - quite slow internet; - a power/electricity key for the room is attached to a lock key, so when you take a plastic key/card, the light in the room is immediately off, so you need to unlock the room in the total darkness. Either a key and a card should go separately or the power switch should be adjusted; - some wooden plank or a rubber mat can be useful below the pool shower, otherwise you stand on a metal grill, that is not very comfortable for the feet.
