Campo Regio Relais, Residenza d'Epoca Siena

We stayed in Room 5 for 3 nights, the view upon entering the room was incredible. What makes the Campo Regio Relais so brilliant are the staff, from Maria arranging a Taxi for us from another City in Tuscany, to the warm welcome on arrival, this hotel is fantastic. As a small boutique hotel, you have a real sense of belonging compared to the run of the mill large hotel chains. The room was immaculately clean, towels changed daily and bed made. The buffet breakfast was plentiful, with coffee choices available. Location is brilliant, a stones throw from all the main areas to visit. We will definitely return to Campo Regio Relais in years to come.

It’s just a crying shame that better managed detail isn’t in place to make this gorgeous property even more desirable. This showed up everywhere…from the carelessly cluttered reception right through …. The comfortable walk-in shower was the overarching reason for us staying here -& it’s amazing & efficient! …but gracious style along with its position confirmed our selection However silly things like the maddening arched lamp with its giant shade over the low tea/coffee table -on which 9 times out of 10 one banged one’s head on it when you stood up - was also a lunatic design error- wildly out of kilter with the ( mostly) elegant classic furnishings elsewhere in the room. Upstairs ( conveniently a lift) the graciously conceived sitting room ( cluttered, as was the entry, with far too much 2nd rate reused’n’bruised Xmas tat) the super idea of their ‘ Honour Bar ‘ failed ultimately because it wasn’t stocked with quality product - & wasn’t in fact all that convenient to use either- nowhere to actually mix a drink! I was personally disappointed there wasn’t any red vermouth : one therefore couldn’t make Tuscany’s most famous Negroni cocktail, to which I was looking forward. I did tell the obligingly eager young man at the reception on the second day about this deficiency..but his search of their reserves proved fruitless. I couldn’t even have Campari & soda ..there was no soda …not much of a bar, alas . Footnote: there WAS an unmarked bottle of “something “ looking suspiciously like oxidation-affected red vermouth, or????…but that bottle looked so highly suspicious & I didn’t go near it . It’s a comfortable walk to The Campo, & if you’re up for it …further on you may venture up to the Cathedral…Siena’s prideful jewel. What a fabulous city. For this graciously conceived property ＞ A qualified recommendation only.

We stayed here 10 years ago in room 5. It has not changed and it is one of the best rooms we've ever stayed in. The patio and the view are stunning. Can't wait to come back. If you head to Siena, do yourself a favor and get room 5 at this exceptional boutique hotel. Perfectly located in the heart of Siena with a staff that bends over backwards for you.

Really wonderful choice for your stay in Siena - would definitely stay again! - Excellent Location! Close to great restaurants, gelato, sites - everything! - Room - Beautiful and very quiet. The room was large enough for two people with plenty of storage. Individual room temp control. Extremely Clean! - Beds - Amazing linens - the sheets are so soft. The bed is firm, which I found typical in italy. Pillows are a little flat. - Bathroom - Wonderfully outfitted with lovely towels. Only toiletry not provided was conditioner. - Breakfast - Quite nice buffet selection with hard boiled eggs, fruit, breads, cheeses, meats, yogurts and many other options. Breakfast officially starts at 8:30, but if you have a morning tour you can request a bit earlier which was very nice.

The best hotel in Siena! If you decide to stay here (which you should) I recommend booking room 5. The terrace oversees the city center, the duomo, and part of the Tuscan countryside. I don’t think there’s anywhere else you can get a view of the city as cool as this. The room was comfortable and clean as well. While it’s easy to look at the photos and think the views and the room are the main selling points of the hotel, in reality it’s the staff that make this place special. They went above and beyond what they needed to do to help make our stay memorable. They made us a reservation at a Michelin star restaurant, provided a fantastic check in experience, and Gabriela was so patient and amazing helping me navigate the bus system so we could get from Florence to Siena and back with no stress. I hope to be able to return to Siena again in my lifetime, and if I’m fortunate to be able to I’ll be staying here again.
