Rimba Resort - Dive Centre & Spa

Last minute getaway my birthday to this very raw island. No TV, no electronics, no AC. Digging, knocking, climbing, collecting, they said they felt like they're cavemen 😆 Plus swimming, snorkeling, playing card games, talking and lots of singing. The kids also started their discovery dive course and dived for their first time! Things we loved: 1. The wild boar that came to our hut everyday. 2. The beautiful stretch of pebbles in a variety of colours and shapes, which we do not see elsewhere. 3. The house coral reef, even though not the most colourful and prettiest we have seen, still pretty amazing as they are really huge! Just like an underwater metropolis with many skyscrapers. 4. The millions stars that shone so bright at night. We saw Orion and our daughter was the happiest to see her Leo.

This was our 12th visit to Rimba and probably the best so far. Great team, couldn’t do enough for us. Excellent food, diving etc. If you’re looking for somewhere to completely unwind, this is it. The most beautiful beach with coral reef. You won’t want to leave. We’ll definitely be back soon!

From the moment we stepped off the boat onto this fantastic island, we felt at ease because all the staff were super friendly and welcoming. Our boys learnt to dive and the diving instructor, Adam was absolutely brilliant with them. We also did a refresher course and other dives and Blake along with Sophie gave same superb instruction as well as being supportive during my diving wobbles! The food was excellent, there was a nice mix of Malaysian and Western food and the staff were very kind and friendly. The accommodation has mosquito nets, hot water but it's too warm to use that and is clean and well maintained. The beach and place isn't overcrowded, it is really calm and relaxing. It isn't a party place so if that's ok with you , this is an amazing place to be. Also, the cocktails made by the lovely staff were fantastic- a little expensive but that's because it's an Islamic country so alcohol is shipped in. We loved it there and again thank all the staff for their kindness.

3 days 2 nights was barely enough fun for us! We spent the first afternoon doing a 20-30min jungle trek to a neighbouring resort Sea Gypsy which had a larger beach - enjoyed it despite the rain. 2nd day - managed to catch some sun in the morning walking along the beach and relaxing. Did a nice 30-45mins walk along the rocky areas at the end of the beach and was awesome watching the waves crash against the rocks. Did some kayaking too! We even had sparklers and a bonfire to celebrate Deepavali - for the kids but adults joined the fun :) 3rd day - squeezed in a swim and bobbed along on the floats. natural wave pool!! Drinks at the bar were affordable and the lounge was cosy and a great place to chill at night. Netflix was available at the only TV in the lounge. Suggestion to have karaoke nights! Food was mostly delicious esp the BBQ night. Service staff super friendly and helpful - Mal, Ruth, Ben, Adam and the rest. Pity we didn’t get to snorkel as weather was not too good. Maybe come by during a more sunny time of year. Expect mozzies and insects to visit you in your room! Huts were basic but clean, note that rooms cannot be locked. No aircon but the sea breeze + fan was cooling enough for a comfortable sleep. Overall, exceeded my expectations! made new friends too. Will be back some time again.

We travelled from Singapore - in less than 4 hours we were in another world. The staff are all super friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. We visited mid-week so pretty much had the resort to ourselves. The rooms are basic/rustic but comfy, and the food was delicious.

Our 10th trip all the way from the uk. Rimba is beautiful run by an amazing crew. Night snorkelling was amazing and a big thank you to Bri for arranging this. Mal and Adam thank you for being the best hosts. Hopefully being back next year. 😘
