I contacted them to add another night to our stay for the weekend and advised them that our pet would be joining us. They said no problem, for the first two nights there is a $25 pet fee per day, the third night pet fee is $10. I had no problem with that. We checked in, paying $238.45 for two nights and took our room keys. Unbeknownst to me, the keys were for a single/double room. I returned to the front desk saying “I specifically reserved a queen room”. That’s when they told me the queen rooms were not pet friendly. If I’d have known that prior to driving for hours, I would have boarded my dog. I asked for some sort of discount. The young lady apologized profusely for the mix up, stating she wasn’t aware of the pet queen room situation and found the owner to ask about my inquiry. I asked him if he could discount the pet fees or provide some sort of compensation and he refused. The room was not clean, cobwebs everywhere, the corners of the entire “suite” were built up with, I would say, a few years of dirt buildup. Our toilet did not flush properly. I asked the owner if he could swing by and take a look. He proceeded to plunge the toilet and said that too much toilet paper was used. I used six squares (two ply) for crying out loud! Who says that to a guest? He left the plunger “just in case” we needed it. We had to plunge it every time! There was a pail hanging from the pipe under the bathroom sink because the taps leaked, we could feel the springs in their very old mattresses, we had to push the door up and in at the same time in order to close it properly. The soap provided was horrible, it barely lathered. On my way back to the room from discussing extended our stay with the owner, I saw the housekeeper sweeping off the beds instead of changing the sheets. I do not recommend.
