Beautiful place to be. Visited in June this year The rooms are od two types. We booked the separate villas available there Extremely spacious rooms with Beautiful view of umiam lake. Interiors were very pleasing. Good place for both family and couples. Restaurant with a view There's a shop too inside which has quality goods. Lush greenery around A peaceful stay Only thing is walking up and downStairs Little difficult for elderly people for ambulation and movement

Our stay at Rikynjai Resort in Meghalaya was nothing short of idyllic. Location - Nestled amidst the picturesque landscape of Umiam Lake, the resort offers a serene and rejuvenating escape. Rooms - The rooms are spacious and beautifully appointed, providing ample comfort and breathtaking views of the lake from the private balcony. Restaurant - The restaurant serves a delectable array of global cuisine, complemented by a refreshing selection of cocktails. Service -The service throughout the resort was excellent, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience. Suggestion - The resort's tranquil ambiance and stunning natural surroundings make it an ideal destination for relaxation and rejuvenation. However, the absence of a swimming pool was a slight disappointment, especially during the warmer months. Final Verdict - Overall, Rikynjai Resort is a highly recommended choice for travelers seeking a peaceful and luxurious getaway in Meghalaya. The resort's stunning location, comfortable accommodations, make it a truly memorable experience.

The property is spectacular. No better location to take in the serenity of Lake Umiam and spectacular sunrises. The architecture is a marvel, the rooms are big and wonderful, the foliage impressive. The staff is super helpful. It is far from any place else but that is the point. The local black sesame dal in the restaurant is the best dal you will ever have. But really, this is a unique hotel with a gorgeous view of a lake with trance like peace.

We stayed at the Ri Kynjai for 1 night. The rooms were spacious, but lacked air conditioning. This can be a problem during the summer months. Unfortunately, the resort seemed to have some maintenance issues during our stay. Some of the rooms located close to ours were under maintenance, and were being painted. Another major problem was that their Generator was out of service, and we were forced to wait for the electricity to come back. The manager was receptive of the feedback and apologetic. They did offer us free dinner as an apology. The location is beautiful, and the resort has been done up well. The food at the restaurant is also nice, with good service, but slow.

Wonderful place to be on the outskirts of Shillong. Really defines - Serenity by the Lake (except for the occasional noisy crowds). Great ambience esp. for the rooms overlooking the lake. Courteous Staff from reception to house keeping to the restaurant. Tasty food esp. Continental and Chinese. Breakfast spread - nice for a 4-star hotel. The wood interiors gives a majestic touch to the property. Bar is well stocked with most of the brands you would like. Did not use the spa. There are a few issues however. Not exactly disable or wheelchair friendly. Also not recommended for elders with bad knees as stairs to climb at several areas. Limited activities at the resort - a trail leads to the lake and a small open area for some outdoor games. Great to relax but not if you have a large family and want to do activities. Shillong is 15-20km from the property - both an advantage (away from the maddening crowd) but if there is shopping to do and places to visit a limitation. The emporium (shop) with handicrafts can be better stocked. Very limited options and many overpriced. Overall a great place to relax and chill for a couple of nights with a great view to enjoy and nice staff to pamper you.
