777 Motor Inn

I arrived there at 2 am this morning and was given a room on the 1st floor. After unpacking all of my things, I saw a bedbug on the bed. I smashed it with my wallet, grabbed my key card and went to the office. I asked the guy to come with me to see it for himself but it had escaped. He asked if I wanted another room, so I said yes. He had only one room on the second floor, up steep stairs, no elevator. So I quickly repacked and he was kind enough to carry my bags up for me. I began to inspect the room and quickly saw a large mirror on the wall that had graffiti etched into the glass as well as some that had been painted on. I pointed this out to him and told him that I would be taking pictures of it. He told me that I could speak to the manager in the morning after 9 am. Meanwhile, I began to look at everything. When I opened the drawer of a nightstand I again saw graffiti spray painted on. I took pictures of this as well. I was disgusted. This is in a very nice area, Sherman Oaks, but it is a dump. In the morning I asked for a later check-out time which I was given. Then after dressing, I went down to speak directly to Dee who was the acting manager. I told her about my problems. She told me that they could not resolve these issue because the owner would not pony up for a new mirror. Apparently he won't pay to spray paint the drawer that has graffiti, either! I could not wait to get out of there, and am concerned about the possibility that I have brought bedbugs home in my bag or clothing. DO NOT STAY IN THIS HORRIBLE PLACE for any reason! Not worth $50, much less the $115 that I was charged. A NIGHTMARE!
