I visited The Mitre Inn in Sandford Orcas a couple of weeks ago for a quick pub lunch following a walk with friends, and wow what a transformation. We arrived just as the pub opened and were greeted with a smile by a friendly waitress. It’s been a little while since I ventured down and it turns out the pub has had somewhat of a complete makeover. The pub now has a sophisticated, warm and charming feel about it. I opted for a baguette with brie and cranberry which came with chips and salad…no picture as I ate it too quickly as it was delicious! There is ample parking in the main and over flow car parks, the entrance is wheel chair friendly (no large steps to go up or down), plenty of seating with cosy corners, bar area with rustic seating which is in keeping for the area (think bar stools with vintage tractor seats), wide selection of food on the menu with lots of puddings, variety of beers/ciders/soft drinks/wines, two lovely large wood burners, outdoor seating in the beautiful garden area, the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming along with plenty of locals who greet everyone with a smile. Would I go back yes, will I go back of course. 10/10 from start to finish. Thank you very much to all, we had a lovely afternoon!
