We stayed in the smallest room which had a Murphy bed. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was a box of items which was left behind in our room and refrigerator. As boxes go, the items were fine. But, the vibe of this place was really not the tone we look for when we travel. The place feels deserted with the restaurant permanently closed and no staff on site. There was a sign in the room which said that patrons would be charged if they didnt properly sort the garbage - which we found offensive. Understandable that they want people to stick to a system, but seriously be nice about it. All in all it was very impersonal and not warm and fuzzy as is the case in so many other Canadian Inns.

We arrived to find the place closed at 6:30pm despite calling ahead, called the owner who arrived within 10 mins, pub and restaurant downstairs is permanently closed to our disappointment as we was hungry and most places close at 8pm it was 7:30, web site says it’s open until 9pm. Started to pay which was $175 with taxes, then we got asked why we skipped the tip menu!!, room was ok but heating was off and cold so it was freezing, the owner said he didn’t have time to switch it on. Kitchenette comprised of mini fridge which was off and a coffee maker, microwave was in the hallway. Not impressed.

This was the only hotel available we had no other choice. We thought it was a warehouse at first, I still think it was at some point. Obviously very historic, we took the last room of the night. Over $200, not what we do on the road. Never had to make reservations anywhere in June before. People were very nice, bed was comfortable, quiet, We did have TV but were so exhausted only looked for weather in the AM. I think they would like to serve a real breakfast rather than the assortment of fruit & baked goods brought the night before. Good for an adventure.
