Where do I even start. Firstly, the hotel itself feels like it’s falling apart, and not in a traditional “rustic” way. The lobby’s floorboards wobble and creak, with their stains covered by the overly dim lighting. The room wasn’t small, however the good things stop about there. The bathroom lights did not work. The floor was covered in plastic peelings from the chair, in addition to the dead flies. The bedding was awful; the duvet and pillows seems as if they were made from the same material as sponges, with sheets like sandpaper. I understand this place isn’t meant to be the Ritz, but charging £70p/n is extortionate. The TV worked, though it’s remote didn’t. I only had it on so the background noise of the other TVs in the hotel was diluted. The walls were paper thin. This excessive noise wasn’t helped by the hotel being on a main roundabout; If you find it difficult to sleep due to noise or bedding, DO NOT STAY HERE! The room had tea making facilities, of which I had no trouble with. However some other facilities, which are normally expected for £70p/n, weren’t available. These would include a hairdryer, iron, and possibly even a Safe of some kind. In summary, this hotel is NOT worth staying at. Being an independent hotel, I know that they would struggle with lowering the prices. However, for £70p/n, this place is daylight robbery. I would say this place would be worth a maximum of £30p/n, most likely even less.
