My second time staying here with a similar experience. Clean rooms and comfortable bed, similar to the comfort of the major western chains. Room was spacious and good size shower. I did not have my passport because it was with immigration to get my new residence permit and the official government receipt for my passport was accepted with no questions or problems. I noticed this time that the hotel is quite close to the Taierzhuang stop on line 9. While I would not recommend walking it with luggage, it is less than a 5 minute bike ride.
One note is that when I checked in, the room I was given had a window but it faced an exterior wall. This meant I would get very little natural light. I asked the attendant for a room with a window for natural light. I did not entirely understand his response but it seemed like the room I booked had this type of obstructed view but he gave me a different room. While the room was a bit smaller, it was still a good size. To avoid misunderstandings, the hotel needs to provide more comprehensive information about the rooms on the site.
Similar to my first stay, again there was an issue with people smoking in common areas. When I entered the lift, the smell of smoke took my breath away. When I got out of the lift, there was an extinguished cigarette in the water tray near the lift. Being a lower price hotel, perhaps it attracts a clientele who does not heed these rules. However, the hotel, while trying to be helpful, actually encourages smoking outside of the rooms since they provide trays for extinguishing cigarettes (see picture). Even worse, while waiting for the lift the next morning, someone had spit in the water of one of these trays.
Overall it is a hotel I would book again if the price was low, but I would not pay any premium to stay here unless some of these matters are addressed.
