Urban Cowboy Lodge

We stayed at Urban Cowboy for a wedding weekend on another property. The area is remote and very beautiful. Our room was in the Walden building. The hallways and room are very dark with that overnight camp bunk musty smell. Our room was nicely appointed with a rustic feel complete with Pendleton blankets and robes (nice touch). Our room number 7 was tiny. No closet space, minimal hanging space, with a small deck that had a soaking tub. It is dark in these rooms. If you’re attending a wedding and need to put on make up ask the front desk-they have light up vanities. My friends room Alpine number 12 was huge. Had a wrap around porch. Her room was dark too but so much better. Also no tvs in the room and no cell service. The WiFi is good. The staff were all great. Very young, hip, kinda vibe. My server in the restaurant was very friendly (wish I knew her name). We just had breakfast there and it was ok. My eggs were overcooked twice but said nice server brought me consolation fruit. The bartenders (Tim) was very friendly and made a fine cocktail. The property could use some love in the buildings. They are starting to look tired. Some fresh paint and a good scrubbing would definitely help as well as some lighting. Two days here was good for us. We sat and watched hummingbirds for hours and just chilled in the Adirondack chairs waiting to go to our wedding. There was a bear on the property while we were there but we got texts alerting us of this. All in all it was a very nice getaway. Nice staff. Pretty lodge and beautiful landscape. If you are craving a mountain experience I’d recommend this property.
