We have just returned from our second visit to this hotel ( booked via tui). If you are looking for a base for a walking / hiking holiday in the Dolomites, this hotel has everything you need at a very reasonable price. The food is superb, especially the five course dinners which we thoroughly enjoyed each evening. The bus stop is outside the door and it is only 10 minutes' walk into the pretty town of Selva and the Ciampinoi gondola and Costabella chair lift. The walking trails are very well marked and the views in all directions are stunning. The staff are all very friendly, efficient and welcoming and go above and beyond to ensure their guests feel looked after. As other reviews have said, the decor could be described as dated but all the fittings are very good quality and were built to last!

We have just returned from a 14 night holiday booked with Tui and we had an excellent time. The hotel is family run and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is a little old fashioned but that adds to the charm. The hotel is spotless and the food was excellent. Breakfasts were the same everyday but there was plenty of choice. Evening meals were 5 course and no course was repeated during our stay. Our room was quite large and we had a balcony. The bathroom was large with a bath and shower as well as a bidet. The scenery was stunning and we made good use of our 6 day lift pass. We also used the free buses on a daily basis and the bus stops outside the hotel were most useful. The weather was glorious and we also enjoyed the 3 evening thunderstorms. We would like to thank the Demetz family for making our first holiday in Selva, so memorable. If we return to Selva in the future we would definitely stay at the Hotel Alpino Plan

Hotel a little dated but absolutely fine as it goes with its character. Family run/owned hotel and they couldn't be more helpful. Spotlessley clean, beds made and rooms cleaned everyday, showers hot and powerful. Ask for an extra pillow as there was only one each in our room and a little flat, we asked and extra pillows in our room for when we got back. The evening meals here are amazing, you will not go hungry. 4 courses each evening, actually 5 if you count the salad and breads. I'm a vegetarian and very fussy with food, the food here is amazing, infact the best I have had on my travels and I have travelled a lot. A bus pass was provided free of charge by the hotel, and the bus stops are very close to the hotel, the pass covers quite a distance so we used it to travel to Bonzano for the day and to get to cable cars further afield. I recommend getting a 6 day pass for the cable cars, we paid £130 each and was well worth it, to get to the heights and hike around the wonderful Dolomites. We only stayed 7nts but wish it had been 14 as there is so much to see and the transport is very good. If I was staying in Selva again I would definately choose this basic small family run hotel, we were treated very well and all guests felt the same, very friendly although didn't appear that way first impression, don't judge by first impression, it was just perfect for us.

We first visited the Alpino ten years ago. Thankfully, not much has changed. We enjoyed the same excellent service, delicious food and spotless housekeeping. One change for the better, is a new link off the piste, meaning you can now ski back to within 20m the front door. The Alpino is a little way out of the village up a longish hill. The ski bus stops very near by and it is possible to get a taxi from the village centre if you’ve missed the last one. Overall, the Alpino is a great place to stay for exploring the endless Dolomiti Superski area.

Right. So, last year we stayed here, for our first ever two-week long ski holday. Took a gamble and it paid off. We loved the place, in every way - see last year's review. There's a saying that you should never go back, but we took a chance and had another fortnight's stay this year. Have to say, it was even better this time! The main, striking feature is that it's a family run hotel and it's so wonderfully friendly, welcoming and with an easy going atmosphere. The bar is good sized and the place to be after a day's skiing, with a selection of good beers and wines (and cocktails too!) but it's the Dining Room that's the heart of the hotel and which has a comfortable air to it in which, again, we enjoyed the varied selection of evening menus that never failed to please us. Comfortable beds, too, in spacious (and warm) rooms. This year we were able to benefit from the improved, now "official", ski route right back to the hotel, which makes joining and, in particular, leaving the piste each day so much easier. This, of course, is in addition to the ski bus services. So, if you want a warm, friendly hotel, with good food and cheer, then this is the place to try....we've already booked for another two weeks next year! ,

I came to stay at this family run hotel over the new year period (2024/25) as part of a Crystal Ski package holiday. It is the job of the hotel team to look after their guests, and boy dod they do that as I was well looked after from arrival to departure. the room was ready in arrival (lunch time), the room was comfortable with a great shower and wonderful retro decor in the bathroom, it was fantastic. There was a bit of traffic noise at night if the window was open, but nothing a beer couldn't get rid of. The restaurant was well laid out and the waiting team were the best, nothing was a problem. Breakfast was a cold buffet, and dinner comprised a salad, entre, starter, main and pudding. Never a wonky dish, and the New Years Eve celebration dinner of a roasted pigs leg, paraded on fire, was a roaring success. Brilliant. The hotel has a great little bar too, serving the local beer and other drinks too. Great stuff. This was my third trip to Selva, first stay in this hotel, and I do recommend the Alpino Plan to anyone who is thinking of booking. Here's a few tip if you stay here. 1. it is a hike to / from town for apres. The hotel bar is perfectly fine so you don't have to walk too far if you can't be bothered :); 2. The boot room is cozy, go early or leave til after 9 to avoid the squash from others; 3. You have choices to get to the piste: a. walk to the Fungeia chair lift, about 5 mins downhill and the piste will take you to a few queues; b. walk the recently added piste extension which runs alongside the road, again about 5 mins and you get to ski to the Fungeia; or c. get a bus. Downhill (the stop on the opposite side of the road to the hotel) to the Costabella and a queue, or the stop on the same side as the hotel get a bus for 5 - 10 mins to Plan de Gralba and the gondola or cable car up for a no queue experience and a lift that will give you a choice to go in any direction in the ski area (I recommend this option). Enjoy - I certainly did.

The food was fantastic. We had a half-board deal. The included breakfast was a well-stocked cold buffet. Evening meal was 5 courses with a choice for two of the courses. All were extremely good with local influence showing the history of the region. Staff were very attentive and spoke many languages. The building was of a traditional local design with lots of wood visible. All good quality. Reception area was well stocked with local tourist information leaflets. Also included in the price of the stay was a local bus-pass. The hotel is well situated with regular bus services. Walking into town is also practical, taking about 15 minutes. Ideal location for hiking or cycling in the summer months.

Just returned after spending a week 24,8 24 here, the staff are very helpful and polite and speak good English. The location is brilliant, and you get a free bus pass, which is very helpful. The food was very good and plentiful. I, unfortunately, I would have liked to see a more traditional menu. I never had breakfast as there was no salami/speck ore Italian hams
