We booked an apartment suite through VRBO which I would never recommend because getting support for this booking required that I call every day for four days to finally get a satisfactory response because my booking was then sent to *******, and neither organization could figure out what was going on. I accidentally put in only 2 adults when it should have been 2+baby. The hotel staff were entirely unhelpful in this regard and had a stance that kept changing at every turn. First they said we could not have the room, and that we could pay materially more for a different room. Then they said we could get a credit for our room put towards a tiny hotel room that would not cost us any extra. Then, when we went to check out after only one night in the cramped shoe box room they gave us, they must have had a change of heart and said we could have our original apartment room after all. Then, when we said we were leaving anyway, they said we could get a partial refund for the nights we didn’t stay. Finally they returned to the original statement that it was our fault and we would not receive any refund at all. These positions were all clearly arbitrary, and at the discretion of the staff. Had they exercised their discretion from the get go, and recognized that an 8 month old baby bears no additional cost to the hotel, and that it would be inconvenient for us to come up with a new plan, none of this had to happen. They were too focused on their own ego instead of customer service, so they earned this terrible review.
