From the point of view of two good friends that travel: While the resort offers some positive attributes like the unbeatable location (proximity to red rocks and trails), prompt golf cart service, refreshed ice buckets during turndown service and multiple dining choices, there are several areas that could use improvement. We encountered recurring issues with bugs in the rooms and felt the staff could be more accommodating, such as suggesting closer options when requesting simple items like ice water. Only one pool had a waitstaff and amenities at pools (sunscreen, water, towel service) were lacking. They provided free water bottles but they weren’t insulated (average temperature during our stay was 95 degrees). These are unnecessary inconveniences given the premium rates. Furthermore, the policy of not allowing off-site excursion operators to pick-up guests on property raised safety concerns and created hassles. To elevate the experience, the resort should look into enhancing staff helpfulness, expanding poolside amenities, improving room maintenance, and revisiting certain policies that impact guest convenience and safety. Addressing these areas could go a long way in providing the high-quality, hassle-free stay that guests expect from a 4-star property ($600+ a night). The sister hotel, Mii Amo, offered fantastic amenities; the crystal gratto morning ritual is a must-do experience, and the gym facility, juice bar, and pool are very nice with an incredible waitstaff. However, the spa is overpriced based on our experience vs. others in Arizona. A few items to note: the spa itself is lackluster given the size of the property and the sauna barely worked. Additionally, while the massage therapists were pleasant, during both our experiences, they had a very clumsy bedside manner and less refinement (loud footsteps in the room, rolling of the massage chair). Furthermore, bright fluorescent lights remained on during the services. detracting from the experience. For anyone wanting to stay here, do your due diligence and know you won’t get similar amenities to other hotels that are a fraction of the price.
