My wife and I had the displeasure of staying at the Hampton Inn in Seal Beach on the evening of May 20, 2023. We originally booked our stay for four nights, but due to unsanitary conditions in the hotel room we checked out on Sunday, May 21, 2023. After waking up on Sunday morning, we inadvertently moved the blanket and top sheet only to find blood stains embedded in the lower portion of the fitted sheet as well as possibly feces. Upon seeing this on Sunday morning, I went downstairs to the lobby and requested to speak with the manager on duty. Since it was a Sunday, I was informed there was no manager on duty. I requested they contact the manager who will be in charge on Monday to explain the situation we experienced. They did not perform this request. As you can appreciate, we immediately went back to the room and packed our clothing and checked out. On Monday, I left a voicemail for the manager, urging her to contact me. Rather than engaging with me directly, I received an email from the manager advising she was made aware of the situation. Further, the manager asked if this was somehow and in a roundabout way was this situation my fault. Can you believe the gall of this person? I informed the manager via email response we checked into another hotel nearby. After calling the hotel and leaving 2 voicemail messages to speak with the general manager, both calls were neglected. I was relegated to 2 options: (a) continue with the accusatory email strings from the general manager; (b) go back in person to introduce myself and speak with the general manager. I opted to do both. Of course upon my return to the property the manager had just ‘stepped out’. I again left my telephone number and again never received a telephone response. I contacted my credit card company to dispute the hotel stay due to the unsatisfactory and unsanitary condition of the bed.
