I arrived in Shcwerin due to needing to work in the town of Lübstorf for two weeks and I picked this hotel over the Intercity Hotel because it was cheaper. I had failed to check that the room I had booked was one of the rooms in the basement with a shared shower and toilet, which was my own fault. Arriving at the hotel, sometime after lunch, I had to call the owner to get the code to let myself into the hotel, which was difficult as the owner’s English sadly wasn’t good. Getting the key to my room was unproblematic and I went into my room. On the Sunday afterwards I had decided I wanted to head out of my room to walk around the city. However, I heard a key click in my door and, when I tried to open it I found out that something had broken the lock in the door so I couldn’t get out of the room. Trying to fix this I talked to the owner of the hotel which took 5 calls before I got through to him and could explain what had happened. All he told me was to “Try the other key.”, and only told me he would send some of his colleagues after I yelled at him that I was stuck and, despite his suggestion, I was not about to just “crawl out of the window and remove the bug net.”. After his employees arrived they could determine that, not only was the lock in the door broken, but it couldn’t be fixed, leading me to needing another room, this was fixed quite quickly by the employees. The Wifi was free but was only stable enough to be properly used in the bar area. The employees are good, but I would not recommend this hotel to anyone except those who expect to only be outside of the hotel all the time. The only good thing about my stay was that I spent more time running around the city to avoid staying in the hotel more than necessary.
