Dear Trip.com Supervisor,
I chose La Quinta because I have had very good experiences in different parts of the country. This La Quinta, in downtown Sarasota, is the absolute worst hotel I have ever stayed in. There was no notice, but they are under construction on the lobby level. The elevator was not working on Saturday. The room furnishings were very worn. The headboard had a small red stain on it and the sheets had a small hole. The table lamp bases were rusted, the lamp shades had bare spots, the microwave was disgusting (unsure weather it was food splatter or burned plastic interior), the refrigerator had rust on the entire outside of the appliance. There was a roach in the room, but I am not surprised since it is Florida. In the bathroom, the toilet paper holder was hanging onto the wall by only a hope. The toilet paper would easily fall off and onto the pitted tile floor. The bathtub had mold on the outside by the floor, and rust above the shower head. The shower stream was extremely weak. The water was hot though, that was a plus. The bath towels seemed new and were very nice. The sink in the entry had a hot water faucet that could spin past the off position.
This room, in the shape it was in, should not have been $200 per night! The most would be $60.
It was very disappointing for a La Quinta. I consider the brand a risk now, whereas before I would search them out for my stay.
I would have cancelled immediately, but the policy on Trip.com does not allow cancellations.
I am asking for a refund of $200 and hope when you see the attached pictures, you will agree.
