The lady who works the front with the brown curly-ish hair is incredibly rude and passive aggressive. We had needed help in a difficult situation and she told us we were wasting her time. She had no empathy. Then when I told her an estimate of when I arrived she basically told me I was at fault for saying “15” minutes when I said “10-15” I did not say 15 and I can’t predict my taxi driver so I gave a range. She just seemed very easily annoyed and irritated and will be quick to blame you and be tired of helping you. Is this what you expect when you pay 1100$ usd a night ? Btw I was told it’d be less than that but they charged me more than what I agreed upon but that’s another story. The taxi price also suddenly went from 20$ to 100$ for the same place and time of day , I’m not sure how they are quoting their taxis or what is going on there but it does seem sketchy Also on top of that the room is not that great, can find better for the money.

total scam of a 5star hotel, so dissapointed from the service, no room food service, just 2 bottles of wine in the list, the omelete at breakfast was grey and watery, we wanted our breakfast serviced earlier than scheduled so we could live the hotel for an activity and they couldnt because only two employees were serving the breakfast, and lastly there was a 52db noise coming from the aircleaner in the toilet which did not let us sleep at night. the only nice thing is the caldera view!

We stayed at Hotel Abyss in Santorini, expecting a 5-star luxury experience as it is marketed. BUT it was clear from the moment we walked in that we had made a mistake. The first red flag came with the taxi, organized by the hotel for 50 euros, that brought us to the hotel—it was old and dirty inside, not at all the standard you'd expect when paying nearly €900 a night. As soon as we arrived, we were stunned to find out that there was nowhere to wait and sit and have a drink until our room was ready (remember this is a 5*) with our luggage placed in the so-called "spa" area we left and went to a nearly bar. There was nowhere to sit or relax while we waited for our room, and no option for a drink or even a snack while we stood around. When we finally got to our room, the issues continued. We requested our suitcases - but they couldn’t bring them to us because they were in the spa and we needed to wait until someone had finished their massage in there! we again sat around waiting. The room design is nice and modern, and the view is absolutely stunning, but that’s where the positives end. You should know that the shower is not private at all it’s literally in the middle of the room behind the bed. There were dirty, stained cushions on the floor outside which was disgusting and completely ruined any initial impression. We were also stunned to find a security camera facing the outdoor hot tub!!! It’s there to point to the entrance but a better location surely should be found! Worse yet, we had no option to order food upon check-in, so we had to leave the hotel to find something to eat. Later, we even had to go to the supermarket to pick up crisps and chocolates just to have snacks in the room. What kind of 5-star hotel doesn’t even offer simple room service like bread, dips, or a cocktail? The only room service was a choice of 5-6 bottles of wine - which we ordered and were brought to us without an ice bucket. The only room service that exists is that they deliver breakfast to your room. We initially requested breakfast to be delivered to our room at 9 a.m., but later decided we wanted it earlier as we woke up earlier than expected. However, when we asked if it could be brought sooner, they refused. What type of 5-star hotel doesn’t let you have breakfast at a time that suits you? And when the breakfast finally arrived, it was appalling. We were served a grey, soggy omelette with watery tomatoes, basic items like salt or pepper were missing and the juice warm with no ice. The presentation and quality were severely lacking—there was zero effort put into it. I have frankly had better breakfast at a premier inn. On top of all this, the air conditioning in the room was incredibly loud, making it difficult to sleep, and the fan in the bathroom made such a racket it felt like we were in a factory. We also felt like the hotel was severely understaffed, with just two people seemingly running everything. Things took a strange turn when we decide

We stayed at the Abyss in Oia, Santorini for 2 nights and one full day before going to Naxos, and had the most magical stay there. The staff are exceptional and go above and beyond to welcome you and assist. They even helped us with transfer arrangements several days after we left. Truly first class service. We stayed in a room with a pool overlooking the Caldera and it was simply stunning. The hotel’s location is very convenient, just a short walk from the town. The room itself was spacious and equipped with everything you’d hope for from a luxury stay. We hadn’t anticipated how busy it would be in Oia and retreated to our pool on the one full day we had in Santorini. We spent that day relaxing and soaking in the view. That evening we decided to forego the usual restaurants (although there are lots of good options close by and we ate at one of the night before) and we had food delivered to our pool area from a local delivery place. It made for a very special and memorable evening. We highly recommend the Abyss and hope to return in future.

Abyss is the perfect place to stay if you really want to experience Santorini. Do not let the ambiguous model photos fool you. We were hesitant at first based on the few actual pictures and reviews but we were stunned by how beautiful it was. The pictures would not do it justice anyway. We stayed in the honeymoon suite and it was honestly perfect. The jacuzzi was huge and had an amazing view of Oia. The little terrace was also large with a private entrance. The only other spot was the room next to you but there was a huge wall making it extremely private. The bed was perfect and was tucked into the corner with two beautiful windows and a skylight above. If I would have any complaint it would be that there was only a tub and a handheld shower so you kind of had to take a bath or an awkward shower. It did not matter though because it was more than worth it. They sacrifice a little function for aesthetics but it makes it that much better honestly. It is more of an authentic feel than some basic room or hotel. There was a small fridge filled with bottled waters and different sodas which was very convenient. There was also a small coffee maker which we frequently used to enjoy espressos in the beautiful jacuzzi. There was also a very nice speaker The staff was amazing. The owner/manager welcomed us upon our arrival and gave us a tour. He was extremely knowledgeable of the area, hooked us up with a personal driver the entire trip and knew all the best restaurants. We went on this trip blind with no reservations or plans and he helped us everyday with places to go and reservations at the top restaurants. You were served breakfast every morning and its as really really good. It came with fresh juice and coffee. One morning we had to be on a boat early before the staff arrived (before breakfast could be made) and they accommodated us with an off menu "cold" breakfast which included pastries, fresh juice and a huge yogurt parfait (best I ever had, although I think this was more of a greek thing and not necessarily just this place). It is all about the small things at this pace. Every single detail and every interaction with any of the staff was more than perfect. The location was also unbeatable. We really wanted to stay in Oia but were nervous about the crowds (as we were traveling during "peak" time and were warned about the possible heavy foot traffic). However, Abyss is located right off the road near a small market (which was very convenient) and was about a two block walk down the road to the main sidewalk/pedestrian street where all the shops and restaurants were in Oia. It is a stones throw away from this path so everything is walkable but the place remains quiet and avoids all the crowds (no one walking around your patio or place). I could not say enough about how perfect our trip was and would highly highly recommend staying here.

I booked this hotel for partner & i and i was absolutely outraged by my experience in dealing with them. The hotel resold my suite i had booked without my knowledge. They were reluctant on refunding my money until i got a third party involved. I only gained knowledge of this because i called a day before to arrange a driver to pick us up at the airport but instead was told i did not have a reservation. This nearly ruined our holiday… but im fortunate to have contacts that arranged our reservation in a much better hotel quite frankly, but this was only done after we landed! The hotel manager Sofia was incredibly difficult to deal with, she was no help at all nor was the owner. Im not the one to write a bad review but this experience was something else… never have i ever made a booking/reservation and had it resold without my knowledge, then nearly robbed by the same establishment by not refunding my moneys willingly.

We highly recommend this hotel, incredible location, the staff fulfilled all our requests. Everything was perfect, from the breakfast to the aperitif at sunset with breathtaking views. After our boat ride they reserved the spa just for us. A special thanks to the receptionist who offered us a bottle of wine on the private terrace, a detail we particularly appreciated. See you soon

5 stars is not enough for this hotel. I’ll start with my experience: when I finally decided on Greece being this year’s big trip back in April (a dream destination for over 20 years), my priorities were my lodging in Santorini (and table bookings in Mykonos). I knew the summer Greece travel planning way of having to book way in advance before everything sells out so I booked an amazing air BNB back in Apr’23 (because Cavo Tagoo was sold out since Jan). As the summer was passing and I was getting more and more excited, I didn’t think the air Bnb was going to cut it. Already being August, I was stupid to rethink my decision but kept searching hotels anyway. I came across 3 places that spiked my fancy, but none had suites available to my liking. I found Abyss. Perfect location, and a honeymoon suite available. I booked it. There were minimal reviews on TA, but what was there was all perfection. For whatever reason I kept checking daily on website to see if any other suites opened. To my surprise, on 8/17, the executive suite opened. I immediately cancelled my honeymoon suite and rebooked to executive suite - and this may have been the most amazing decision I ever made (spite the honeymoon suite and everything and anything about this hotel, in general, already being amazing, but the EXECutive SUITE being absolutely 150%+ what I dreamed of for what I imagined in Santorini). For starters, Elena, the front desk agent, was so attentive, helpful, insightful and kind through all my annoying question emails from august through my stay. When we arrived, she was just so kind and hilarious, showing us all around the suite and giving us suggestions and advice. Upon any request (wine opener, towels, etc), they were at our door within minutes. In addition, she organized our transfers from santorini airport and to the port, which both were a very clean and beautiful Mercedes (vs the big tourist vans everyone else seemed to have - 50EUR each way). Every morning we had the most amazing breakfast delivered to our balcony. The location of this hotel is perfection. Everyone raves about Santorini and Oia - it wqs beautiful, but I would never want to stay within the pedestrian only “famous” area of Oia. Our hotel was a 4 minute walk to the pedestrian area (which was beautiful but 100% American tourists and not the luxury and glam I imagined) - so it was amazing to be 4 mins walk from here which offered a heightened sense of beauty and privacy - but still in middle of caldera. Finally - the room: As mentioned, We stayed in the executive suite. There is not 1 photo or video that will do the justice of this suite, with icing on cake being the $5,499 B&O speaker in every room - with sound proof walls bc of the concrete. Our pool was perfect temperature; the room was immaculately clean; the super king bed was so comfy, the windows were black out, the shower amenities were abundant and quality, the (dual ceiling) shower pressure(s) were amazing. I could go on for another 10
