Mar n Mar Crown Hotel-Suites

Wasn’t daughter’s 18th birthday present, and we couldn’t have been happier with the hotel and area. Staff were friendly and obliging, we had a late flight home and they let us have our room for the day, instead of checking out at 11am we checked out at 5.30pm. Breakfast was fab, croissants, pancakes, fruits, lots to choose from. Our room overlooked the garden, but we could also see part of the pool and the sea. Behind us was the mountain, where we could hear rooster and dogs. Was a peaceful setting, very relaxing. Only downside was, the steps, so many steps to get to hotel and then our room, also no evening entertainment. But if them 2 things don’t bother you, then this is hotel for you

Lovely small hotel with an amazing staff who gave us a really warm welcome when we arrived and every day and night. They even offered us the chance to try their other hotel in Fira during our stay which was a lovely surprise and we were able to witness the sunset from our hotel room.

Just arrived back from the most beautiful stay at mar n mar hotel. We travelled over to Santorini for our wedding on 15.06.2024 and couldn’t have picked a more amazing hotel. The rooms are beautiful, always cleaned & stocked up with fresh towels daily and the views are just amazing. We booked a room with a jacuzzi with it being a special trip for our wedding, the hotel couldn’t do enough for us. The pool area is well kept, the bar man is lovely and couldn’t do enough for us keeping us stocked up on drinks as we was quite a large party. The breakfast is beautiful, bacon, eggs, pancakes, cereals, sausages, mushrooms always re stocked up through out the breakfast service. Plenty of drinks cold and hot. Upon arriving back to the hotel after our wedding day the maid had been in done all our bed with petals and left a bottle of champagne in ice for us. After our wedding the hotel offered us to stay at their twin hotel free of charge for a wedding present from them to us, what an experience that was up in Fira, again just goes to show how much the staff go above and beyond for their customers. 10000% would recommend and hopefully will see them again soon

We stayed at the mar n mar for 4 nights on 22-26th May. We had never been to Santorini before and were so excited. HOTEL - The hotel on first glance doesn't look like much from the roadside but once inside, it is gorgeous! Everywhere was spotless and its tastefully decorated. Everybody met us with a smile and there was an older man who dealt with our cases for us. We were given a double room on the second floor of the hotel which was lovely, quite small but as we weren't planning a lot of time in it, it didn't bother us but had a huge balcony which made up for the small interior. We realised straight away that the air con wasn't working so later that day when going out for dinner we asked could they look at it whilst we were out. On our return, the hotel manager said it couldn't be fixed and they would have to change our room. On the plus side, they then upgraded us to a suite with a Jacuzzi which made our holiday! The Jacuzzi was such a nice end to each day of sightseeing and if you can afford it, I would fully recommend it. The pool was lovely and the bar fully stocked. Rooms were cleaned daily and the reception staff were amazing Always smiling and friendly. Both Tara and Nicolette were lovely. We also LOVED the life size chess board. We only played once but it was great fun and added a bit of quirkyness. LOCATION - The hotel is really well located but it helps that Santorini is very easy to get around. We rented a buggy for a day through the hotel and that was the best way to see the island. The hotel is 5 mins walk away from the beach where there are so many bars and restaurants to choose from but we also ate one night at Danas Taverna next to the hotel which was gorgeous. There is a bus service that goes from Kamari (10 min walk form hotel) for 2 euros each which takes you to Fira and then from there you can do the same again to Oia. Breakfast - Breakfast was fantastic. Always loads to choose from and a great range of cooked and European options. Try the vine leaves, they were lush! The man who services the breakfast was also lovely. We didn't get his name but couldn't do enough for you. On the whole, we couldn't recommend this holiday or hotel enough! Defintely worth a visit!

Our room was immaculately clean. The bedroom staff are fantastic, and do a great job in searing heat. Towel rail in bathroom was ridiculously high - around 6foot from the floor! Nowhere to hang a bathrobe or anything else without it draping in the sink! I found the Reception staff to be surly, not the friendly Greek reception I had anticipated. We were not lucky enough to have a terrace on our Junior Suite only a small balcony. Our Suite overlooked the road up to the Thira ruins. The gem of our stay was the lovely Nicos, he greeted us in the early hours on our arrival after our flight was delayed and was there every breakfast time with a smile and a word, and very efficient - maybe he should work on Reception as his smile was more friendly than the young lady who could barely look up to acknowledge us when we walked through the door during the day or the afternoon/evening gentleman who was often engrossed in his laptop when we approached. It was always us that said hello first to either of them. There was no local information available in the room or on Reception regarding local buses etc. We had been there 3 days before I realised you could get food during the day! The pool area was immaculate and there was plenty of space available. Drinks at the poolside bar are very measured - a small bottle of Coca Cola is opened for your mixer, but then you are only given half! The location suited us perfectly, very near to some fantastic restaurants, and just far enough away from the very busy area. I was so looking forward to our stay and overall the area was good for us. I was just left a little bit wanting in my experience at the hotel.

Not a good experience from the start . We checked in in the middle of the night and shown to our room which was up many stairs. We soon discovered that this room didn’t have a whirlpool which I had paid for . I went to reception and they said they would sort it out in the morning with a upgrade to a room with a whirlpool . I said again to the man it is not a upgrade it is what I paid for . I went to reception again in the morning and was told they would have to talk to the boss about getting me a upgrade to a room with a whirlpool and garden view . I showed the women my booking sheet with the words garden view room with a whirlpool. I was then told to go back later in the day. So later in the day we went back to reception and they give us another room with a whirlpool which was all cracked with paint and holes on the inside . The Wi-Fi didn’t work the tv didn’t work . The cleaner missed our room twice . The room could do with a fresh coat of paint. And for how much I paid for the room you was only allowed two small bottles of water in the fridge on the first day.then after that get your own . The breakfast was just eatable . There was Lots of fruit but the eggs and bacon was of poor quality. I enjoyed kamari but would not stay in this hotel again.. the trip was a special treat for my partners 50th which was totally ruined . I emailed the hotel a week before we went to ask if I could pay for a bottle of bubbly to the room on her birthday . And I asked at reception too. And the day after her birthday there was a bottle appeared In The room. Total disaster.
