Hotel Schwarzer Adler - Sport & Spa

You always need a certain standard and the Schwarzer Adler meets all those of a alpine hotel. What really makes a difference to us is how the staff takes on their tasks and in particular how they interact with the guests. The staff at Schwarzer Adler are just outstanding. Personal touch without being intrusive and assisting with anything needed without hesitation. Always feels like a home from home!

It was an absolutely pleasure to stay with you over Christmas . All staff went a extra step to make all a good experience. I just remember 2 names but Peter in the reception gave a very warm welcomes and even help us with the luggage, and the Restaurant manager Korki and his whole staff was always very help some. All in all a 5 star experience.

We stepped down to the Schwarzer Adler over the easter holidays for a wellness weekend. Schwarzer Adler was the choice because of its huge spa and wellness. The hotel was quite good apart from a very few negative points. Welcome was quick and without problems but as well a bit cold. No whats going on, welcome drink or whatever other places in this range offer. Second thing was the wetzone in our room (204). The bathtub with the microscopic shower wall is definitely outdated. A cabin with a rain shower would have brought a fifth star in my judgement. Third thing is the size of the restaurant. We had halfboard with a five course diner. Second and third (soup and salad) was buffet. Nothing wrong so far, and I am usually not too lazy to get food myself. But presenting my choice to the whole place while making a respectable walk throught the huge place wasn’t really my thing. The rest is all on the positive side. Good standart, motivated people and first class spa makes it finally a worth visiting place.

I have been many times in Arlberg. That was the best hotel ever. Great location, great food, great crew. I recoment it. The ski lifts are about 3 minutes walking. The spa was great and everything was so clean. The half board dinner and the breakfast was the best we had in ski vacations ever.

We have skied 3 times in St Anton. We discovered SA last year when we went there for dinner. We are so happy we decided to switch hotels and spend the week there this year! The staff here is amazing. Everyone is friendly and has a “can-do” attitude. Our server for the week, Aphrodite, deserves a special shout-out. Every morning she greeted us in the dining room with lots of coffee and cream! She was always enthusiastic about the day and our trip to Austria. Our room was in the refurbished part of the hotel and was stunning. We had plenty of space. There’s a heated drying rack that’s quite large and will dry anything that’s wet. There’s also a large bathroom with and an additional drying rack. The hotel has an arrangement with a local sports store that allows guests to store boots and skis at the bottom of the Galzig lift so you don’t have to schlep everything everyday to and from the hotel. Even so, the hotel is ideally situated just a 7 minute walk from 3 of the main lifts. There’s also a wonderful spa on the hotel. There are at least 5 saunas and 1 steam room. We went there every day after skiing. It was lovely. There’s also both an indoor and outdoor pool. “Angus” was the sauna-master and he made sure that we knew about all of the amenities and that the towels and water were always re-stocked. If y-use so inclined, you can also book massages and other spa services. Breakfast is included in the room price. There’s a huge breakfast buffet that includes fresh fruits, breads, cheeses, yogurt, etc. It’s quite good. You can also get fresh eggs cooked to order. We had half-board, meaning we also had dinner at the hotel. There was plenty of options, including vegetarian. There were some things I didn’t care for, but our server would then offer to bring me something else! In the afternoon, the bar sets out delicious pastries and breads for an afternoon snack for guests. You won’t ever go hungry staying here! St. Anton is a great place to ski and apparently known for its “apres-ski,” which can stretch into the wee hours of the morning. If we had our windows open, we could sometimes hear the loud revelers singing on the street early in the morning. We just needed to close the windows because the room was soundproof. You can’t go wrong staying here. We’ll definitely be back.

We enjoyed a fabulous 5 night stay in this delightful family run hotel and which has clearly recently undergone a major refurbishment most notably the bar and spa areas with the former being very cosy and the latter quite spectacular with no less than 4 saunas,both an indoor and outdoor pool,together with infra red room and steam baths all in a very tasteful and beautifully finished setting.As others have noted the breakfast buffet has everything one could possibly want and particularly noteworthy is the excellent and wide ranging choice of fresh fruit.We were half board and the daily dinner offered an excellent and very varied menu. My room was very well appointed and at the rear of the hotel and as a result I was not disturbed at all. In conclusion, perhaps the best recommendation of all- we have already booked for next year !
