Himmlhof Small Luxury Boutique Hotel

There is simply nothing to fault at this beautiful family-run hotel. The Penz family are true locals, with incredible genuine warmth and friendship given to all guests. The rooms are very well appointed and excellent size, with comfortable beds, and seperate bathroom and toilets. Breakfast and afternoon tea was included (which was absolutely massive and delicious - a shout out to Kiwi baking chef Milly!) was another highlight. If you are going to Sant Anton make the Himmlhof your home away from home and you won’t regret it. Thank you Family Penz for a fantastic stay, see you next year!

Our family of 5 spent a week at the lovely Himmlhoff in March while we in St Anton for a ski vacation. This was our first trip to St Anton and we will be back and return to the Himmlhoff (the hotel was recommended to us by some friends who had stayed there years ago and we'll recommend it to our friends)! This small hotel is run by a family that is the epitome of friendly, gracious and helpful. They assisted me with a lot of plans - ski rentals, ski tickets, ski guide and restaurants, which made organizing very easy. The delicious breakfasts of yummy bread, pastries, coffee, cheeses, yogurt, eggs, etc. and afternoon tea of delightful cake and other goodies gave us a great start to the day and an enjoyable way to reenergize after a day on the slopes. The Himmlhoff even surprised me with the most delicious chocolate cake on my birthday. The rooms had comfy beds, were very clean and all in all just lovely. While I didn't partake, all the other members of my family tried the cold plunge and raved about it. The Himmlhoff is just minutes away from the slopes via a pedestrian walk.

Hotel Himmlhof is a magical, bespoke, boutique hotel nestled beautifully in a quiet street, close to all that St Anton has to offer. From the moment you arrive the family Penz give the warmest welcome, they open their arms and their hotel to you. It is clear that for the family, and their amazing team, no effort is too great. Each room is packed with traditional Austrian charm. Wooden floorboards, historic panelling, an open fire in the lounge and comfortable sofas all make this a perfect choice to relax after a busy day on the slopes. This is a hidden gem that we can’t recommend highly enough. We have stayed here twice already and can't wait to return again next year.

I had a wonderful vacation at the Himmlhof Hotel with my two adult children. The Penz family and the entire team were incredibly kind and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The hotel itself is marvelous, with stunning design throughout—the public areas, rooms, and the magnificent spa are absolutely amazing. The breakfast is simply the best I’ve ever had! This was my second stay, the first being in 2022, and we will definitely be returning. Thank you for another fantastic experience!

Nothing is too much trouble and they delight in making your visit one to remember. Conveniently situated in the heart of St Anton village, the hotel is close to restaurants, bars, ski hire and many other local amenities including the railway station. It is also only a 5 minute walk away from the main Gampenbahn cable car which is the most immediate way to get up into the main ski area. Don’t let me forget to mention the hotel included ski and boot storage less than 50m from the cable car, saving you carrying boots and ski’s, therefore leaving you to wander back to the hotel via your favourite après ski bar. The hotel ambience is true Austrian hospitality at its very best. Comfortable and beautifully well appointed rooms, delicious breakfasts and after your day on the slopes a very welcome afternoon tea. And if that is not enough then why not take advantage of the spa facilities before going into the village for dinner. On that note there is plenty of choice of local restaurants and the reception will be able to advise on where to go, even booking your table (recommended). In summary Hotel Himmlhof is a charming hotel, an absolute gem in the heart of St Anton where you will feel perfectly at home.
