Sanibel Arms West Condominiums

My family has been renting in this property for over 20 years. This year the unit we stayed in showed obvious signs of age and lack of updating and regular maintenance. Screens on the patios were ripped, letting biting bugs in. Found rust in freezer, loose wall bath fixtures, and mildewed washing machine. Generally the unit needed new carpet and furnishing and appliances. In a complex that is frequently full there should be no reason the owners do not update these units to keep up with the prices charged. The cleaning service does a mediocre job cleaning these units and apparently do not notify the office when routine items need attention.

Our condo was amazing! It was clean, comfortable, well stocked, and so cute. They had boxes full of menus from restaurants and brochures with things to do, super helpful. There were books for all ages to read and family board games as well. The owner of this unit was very helpful in giving us suggestions for what to do on the island. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat!

We've probably stayed in 8 of these condos and find them lovely! Had M8 been the first, it would have been the last! Dirty carpets & it needs painted badly! Pocket door on master bath scrapes & doesn't operate correctly. Sink in other bathroom has faulty drain stopper. Toaster is probably 20 yrs old & doesn't work. Toaster! Nothing in kitchen was clean - no silverware or knives were clean. Room darkening drapes don't close completely - what's the point? This was the only condo available to fit our travel plans but would not take it again.

Floors throughout the entire unit were not cleaned when I arrived, There were muddy footprints throughout the living room and kitchen, Two of the kitchen chairs were broken and dangerous to sit on, The refrigerator door is streaked with stains that looked like wine was spilled on it. The blinds in the second bedroom were broken. Maintenance came to lower them but did not replace or repair them so I couldn't raise them and open the window the entire stay. The pillows in the primary bedroom gave off an unpleasant odor., The living room television was very small. The DVD player has a noisy buzz making it impossible to hear the movie. The primary bathroom sink and shower were very old and corroded, I have been coming to Sanibel for many years and never experienced a condo in such bad shape. I paid $5,557.00 for a 2 week stay and for that amount expected a clean and somewhat updated place to stay.
