I've stayed here many times. When I was driving a truck, I used the truck stop across the street to park my rig, then spent a night or two in a real bed. I live less than a mile away. I usually am overall pleased with the accommodations, and I'm not picky by any means. Having spent many years responding to complaints, I try not to make complaints unless something is TERRIBLY wrong, which was my recent experience. It was a Friday night, and the house is being remodeled. No kitchen access, everything is messy and I wanted some peace and relaxation. I checked ***********, saw that my old standby was available and at a reasonable price. I clicked the book now button and entered my card info. This property was set up to require payment at the time of booking, which is new to me. I've always paid at the property. When I arrived with a friend, the desk person found my booking quickly and processed the business part. I took a look at the property map and was pleased with the choice she made for me. King Room, non-smoking. She mentioned that lots of guests had had complaints recently because of renovations, but assured me this room was away from the inconvenience and noise. I was concerned about mess or noise, but the room looked clean and well-maintained. I was wrong. After I mentioned the missing remote, she suggested my friend accompany her to the desk to get one to replace the missing remote. He also told her we needed some sort of furniture other than the bed to sit on. As it was, one could sit on the bed or the floor, or stand. We didn't try it immediately when he got back. He mentioned the receptionist promised chairs in the morning if we chose to stay over, and I wanted to just to avoid the mess at home. We had been in a deep discussion, and picked that back up, until some time later when I wanted some music or some sound. I tried the remote, which did nothing. I handed it back to my friend who returned it to the desk and brought a few different remotes back to figure out which one worked. We tried them but none worked. Turned out the tv was unplugged and disconnected from the cable. The connections were behind a heavy dresser, so I didn't try to patch them. I went to sleep, my friend went home, and when I woke, I showered and wished for coffee. I decided to go to the convenience store across the freeway and get some snacks and coffee for the remainder of our stay. I got some sausage buscuits and hash browns from McDonalds. I also picked up a couple toiletry items since the room had 2 tiny bars of soap and nothing else. I got back to the room and ate breakfast on the bed, had coffee on the bed, and then wished harder for a working TV. I decided to go take care of business and stopped at the desk to make sure the maintenance guys would addres
