Hotel Spiaggia d'Oro - Charme & Boutique - Garda Lake Collection

This was a wonderful experience. The hotel is on Lake Garda, with tables and chairs set out right next to the lake. The room itself was small and not very nice, but it was more than made up for by the pool area and grounds, which were beautiful. Breakfast was excellent, as was dinner the night we ate there. Most of all, the staff was extraordinary, going out of their way to make us feel wanted and pampered. Despite the room size, I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

As has been said in the last review, a very underwhelming hotel. Tired and not especially clean in public areas. We arrived for our honeymoon and prior to arrival we had requested champagne in our room for our arrival, which wasn’t provided until later. The coffee/tea making ‘facilities’ consisted of a kettle and out of the 5 days that we were there, we had to request coffee and cups (which were paper cups, not 4* quality), 3 times as they had not been replenished by the cleaner. We also had to request a toilet roll, as there wasn’t a spare one left in the bathroom. Communication with reception is via WhatsApp (this includes asking for toilet paper) so you have to hope that they see your message to action your request. One message that we sent was replied to sometime after sending it, by which time, it was too late. Apart from not replenishing the coffee etc, our bed was left unmade on one day and a dirty sheet left in our wardrobe which we couldn’t understand where it had come from. Trying to get information about facilities, local restaurants and ways of getting around, was like drawing blood out of a stone. We discovered the spa by consequence, not from being informed about its existence from staff. The spa was closed and had to be booked a day in advance, which we only found out by asking. Stefania and Said on reception were welcoming and friendly but others less so. Overall, we felt that services were not given with great will, so a very disappointing experience, we would not return. We don’t feel that this is deserving of the 4* it holds or the cost of the rooms per night.

Golden, indeed, was our experience. The small hotel is situated in a quiet location right at the lake shore, adjacent to a tiny harbour. Gardone Riviera is in walking distance and Salo' just a short car ride away. The services provided were superb. The polyglot staff was friendly, helpful, competent and efficient, to mention a few: Elisabetta at the reception, Marina with her team at the sumptuous breakfast buffet, Christian at the bar and ubiquitous Stefano with his team in the lakefront restaurant and (weather permitting) on the panoramic terrace. The food was not just delicious but artistically presented by chef de cuisine Vincenzo. Those who plan to visit the area around Salo' and Gardone Riviera a stay in this hotel is highly recommended.

I don’t know where to start: ALL was perfect……….Marina ( the whole-hearted breakfast manager) was the „frosting on the cake“. The room was clean and quiet, as was the Hotel, all staff we encountered were extremely friendly, and the amazingly rich deck-breakfast on the lake plainly unbelievable… We will be back 100%

Everything was perfect from communication before we arrived to our stay. The staff were amazing throughout and our room was large and comfortable with Everything we needed. The head waiter Stefano was a joy. Already planning for next year.

ARQUITETURA CLÁSSICA, LEMBRANDO A PRIMEIRA METADE DO SÉCULO XX, CHARMOSO, ELEGANTE. ÓTIMO CAFÉ DA MANHÂ COM MAGNÍFICA VISTA DO LAGO. PESSOAL MUITO ATENCIOSO E EFICIENTE ! PARA QUE OS CINCO DIAS QUE LÁ PASSAMOS FOSSEM PERFEITOS FALTARAM APENAS OPÇÕES GASTRONÔMICAS. NÃO GOSTAMOS DO LA VERANDA E ASSIM COMEMOS SEMPRE FORA. MAS RECOMENDAMOS E VOLTARÍAMOS COM PRAZER !
