Château de Sanse

Gorgeous setting in the heart of the Gironde with stunning views over the valley and vineyards. All the staff were exceptionally friendly and couldn’t help us enough. Sandra went over and above - fitting 6 more guests in our party into the booked out Friday night BBQ ensuring we all had a wonderful evening.

Really enjoyed our stay here, setting is gorgeous, tranquil with lovely terrace and pool area . Staff are super friendly and helpful and the owner is attentive and wants to ensure you have a good stay . We were attending a wedding nearby and they helped organise transport over the weekend celebrations. The bed was very comfortable, good power shower and nice large room . It was very hot during our stay but a fan was provided which was welcome . Thank you everyone at Chateau de Sanse , I know we will return .

A lovely little chateau with very friendly staff (with good English too) - nice setting - good rustic French food available with either lunch or dinner available as half board. Breakfast is a continental buffet - not huge - but well done. Good sized pool area, swings and slide for children. The setting is quiet with some amazing night skies away from light pollution.

First class hotel and restaurant. Superb views and location. Elegant and comfortable rooms and warm and friendly welcome from the owners and staff. The food was excellent with a good choice of dishes and the wine didn’t have to travel far!

This is our second visit to the Chateau, our first being 9 years ago. And literally nothing has changed. Amazing scenery and stunning chateau located in a peaceful vineyard setting. However the rooms are now looking tired and dated. While we were there we met the new owners who have said they are renovating over the winter and putting in air con in all rooms. The staff were amazing, friendly, personable and spoke good English. The pool was great and large car park with shade is welcome in the summer heat. We will return maybe sooner next time!

We were two couples, staying in the "character" rooms which were stylishly decorated with stunning views out over the rolling vineyards below. This venue offers serene tranquility and all the staff, including front of house, Thierry, are infused with a "can-do" nothing is too much trouble approach. We had dinner on the beautiful terrace and every dish was an artistic creation as well as being simply delicious. Local produce, an extensive menu and reasonably priced excellent wines, including some lovely local discoveries. I cannot recommend this fantastic hotel highly enough ... Other points to note: the hotel had a lovely heated pool and the grounds surrounding the main building were very well kept and pretty. Take a walk down to the lake where the wildlife is abundant. And if you're a fan of night skies, there is very little light pollution so you will be rewarded with stunning starry skies!
