Courtyard St. Paul Downtown

This is a very new hotel, right in the center of downtown St. Paul MN. It is literally across the street from the Excel Energy Center. This hotel was modern, with polished cement floors, immaculately clean, and well appropriated. The walls had oversized photos of the Minnesota state Capitol and the Cathedral of St. Paul - very cool! My room was spacious and very quiet, so I slept very well. Christian was the front desk concierge. He was friendly and professional and provided great customer service. Even the valet guys were friendly and professional. This hotel is convenient and affordable. Whomever is the GM of this place is doing a great job!

Beautiful historic Post-Office building next to restored St. Paul Depot train station - loved the edge of downtown location. This hotel is part of a larger building of condos and has unique rooms which are large, newly restored, clean with friendly staff and easy access to walk or drive/highways. Beautiful walk/exercise along the riverfront (when the weather is good - ha). If the streets are too quiet for you, during M-F be sure to go up into the 2nd story skyway system where there are lots of work folks on the move and food/etc. For several years now we've been happily staying in quieter St. Paul instead of Minneapolis when coming to visit friends and family in TC.

La suite del rey se quedó con el tubo de jardín. Fue una de las mejores noches de sueño que he tenido. El tubo de ahogaba era perfecto para que los dos nos descansar después de nuestra larga viaje. This place is either new or has been recently remodeled. The rooms are very nice, although the mattress was not very comfortable. We were very impressed by the front desk staff, especially Jon. They were very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. their restaurant recommendations were very accurate. The location was very good, especially if you are going to one of the hospitals across the street. They use valet parking, although on exit we loaded the car in the back and drove ourselves out of the lot. The primary cons of the place are a fairly poor breakfast spread. There are a couple of better options for breakfast next door. Also, the pool gets little use and could use a good spring cleaning. We will be happy to return to this place. A note for people booking with ******* and other aggregators. The use of a third-party booking agent ties the hands of the front desk and they cannot solve your problems.
SpringHill Suites St. Paul Downtown

Springhill is generally one of my favorite brands for limited service hotels, but this was almost a full service experience. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The hotel is very new, so everything is immaculate. They take security very seriously, all exterior doors are locked at all times, the elevators are key access too. There is an indoor pool on the first floor, and even a water feature for kids to play with. We needed to do a quick load of wash, and the guest laundry was up to the task in just over an hour to wash and dry ($1.50 to wash, $1.50 to dry, free soap at the Front Desk). The rooms are very comfortable, the bed was wonderful, we got a great nights sleep. My son even said the pullout sofa was very comfortable (second only to his bed at home). The Light Rail is just a few blocks away, less than a ten minute walk. There is a bar in the lobby that is open in the evenings. The breakfast options were great, and ample seating was available. For me, this was an absolute gold standard for Springhill Suites.

My first visit to this specific hotel. It will be a mixed review, but I want to first focus on the interior of the hotel. We checked in around 4:30pm, so it was the evening shift for staff. The staff is OUTSTANDING. They were eager to do anything to make our visit pleasant and make us feel secure, even to the point of walking us to our car if we desired. Our room was ready and it was clean with both a microwave and refrig. There is a restaurant bar attached (they do not own) but was very inviting. We went in to look around but had already made other plans. When we arrived at the hotel, if was difficult to know where the primary entrance is to register. We pulled in to what is the front entrance (RIGHT OFF AN INTERSECTION-VERY BUSY STREET WITH BOTH CARS AND PEDESTRIANS) only to find they keep the doors locked 24/7. We turned into what I would call an alley and entered from behind. There were limited parking spaces available in that area but there was a secure parking ramp (they do not own) available for a charge and we chose to park there. I am going to sum this up by saying, the hotel is nice. The area where the hotel is located does not seem safe or desirable. I did not expect this considering where it is located in St. Paul.
