The Rising Sun

Very spacious room in the lovely village of St Mawes. The hotel is on the sea front. There is a big car park behind it. For cyclist, you may find a bicycle rack in the car park. The evening meal was enjoyable. The service was excellent. For breakfast, you can have cooked breakfast or continental buffet.

We stayed for our 40th Wedding anniversary in room 3. Everything was there that we needed. The breakfasts were delicious and the Sunday roast was fabulous. Our only regret was we couldn't stay longer than the 4 days

This is our second stay at The Rising Sun and overall it was superb. Our room was lovely with views across to the harbour, a seating area and table . A fridge full of drinks to purchase and a little bottle of milk to complement the tea and coffee . The bathroom was huge and had a huge bath and a lovely waterfall shower with Elemis shampoo, body wash and lotion. The room was lovely and warm but there was a Dyson fan heater if needed. Bed very big and very comfortable . The lounge with its roaring fire was lovely and the staff on the whole were most helpful . Unfortunately the chef we had experienced last year had left and this was noticeable in the quality of food . It was wonderful the first night but the second night we ate here was not so good and we felt rather disappointed . Consistency is the key to success in places like this, so an area for improvement . However it wouldn’t put us off coming again. Although we may not eat here every night . Overall it is a charming place to stay and we love it
