Tregarthen's Hotel

Stayed in one of the new lodges. Fabulous view but very cramped. Only a double bed with minimal space around it. Two tiny drawers with a minuscule basket under each and a very small hanging rail. The stairs were half width with only a sailcloth side. Lovely bathroom with walk in shower and cabinet for toiletries. It was a shame the sensor for the cabinet light only worked intermittently. A very small seating area just the length of a small 2 seater sofa and the room very cluttered with pillows, pointless, empty baskets, blankets and a mini bar. Equally small patio area with comfortable furniture but the view was somewhat obscured by plants that needed cutting back. No privacy from the lodges either side as they’re so close together and the recently planted hedging is going to take a good 5 years to grow to any useful size. A property of style over substance and usefulness. Wonderful food and staff in the hotel. They certainly lived up to the boast of making customer celebrations special. Nice terrace with comfortable seating and a great sea view.

The very best.... Location perfect, staff excellent, service excellent. food excellent, comfort excellent just the best place to base yourself in the Isles of Scilly. The hotel is only a couple of hundred yards away from the various boats that take you to the islands and the same distance to the shops of Hugh Town. During our first visit we walked the St Mary's coastal footpath but this our second visit saw us discover the islands of St Martins (our favourite by far) and Tresco (amazing Abbey gardens.) next year we will do some more islands starting with Bryher and repeating St Martins... Tregarthen's Hotel collect your bags off the ferry on arrival and return them to the ferry on departure...lovely.

We loved it so much in 2023, we returned in 2024, definitely returning this year too. The hotel was exceptional, quality food with extremely helpful staff. Our luggage was delivered to our room in good time whilst we eagerly ventured out to see the sights. Room service and cleanliness was of a very high standard. A beautiful location with wonderful views and beaches, so a good camera/ phone is an essential item to keep all the wonderful memories. Tregarthens Hotel is very close to the quay where boats and ferries are available to travel to the other stunning Isles of Scilly.

A now modernised hotel overlooking the Quay and Tresco. On a sunny day there is no better view. We stayed in room 30 just down from the main dinning room and bar area. Small but beautifully appointed with a large comfortable bed. Food in the modern dinning area was of a high standard with many local inclusions, such as ice cream from St Agnes. Staff were an excellent team and always willing to explain and engage. We had a perfect base to explore the islands. We returned to the Scilly Isles after a break of over twenty years and found that their magic is still present. We plan to return.

Just had a delightful short break at Tregarthen's, and we loved the hotel. The staff are charming, young, enthusiastic and at the same time highly professional. Everything possible was done from the time of booking to help us prepare for our stay. The food is unpretentious but delicious, highlighting fresh local ingredients, notably superb mussels and fresh whole fish like brill and sea bream. There are luxurious little touches like fresh milk in the in-room fridges. The location is unbeatable, right by the quay for trips to the other islands, just below the garrison with its spectacular coast walks, and very near the beach and all the little shops and cafes of Hugh Town. Can't wait to go back.

We had a wonderful 3 days at this hotel. A fabulous room with picture windows overlooking the harbour. Beautiful big comfy bed. Excellent shower. What really made our break wonderful was the staff, so friendly and helpful. Special mentions to Craig and Keegan. Thanks to all.
