La Baronnie Hôtel & Spa - Teritoria - Ile de Ré

We have just checked out after a three night stay at the lovely La Baronnie. As we pulled up to the grand double doors it was impossible to believe that the hotel we'd fallen in love with online lay beyond. On arrival we were greeted with a warm smile and a thorough tour of the hotel and its impressive grounds. We spent our nights in the superior room 'Rose de Parme'; it was light, summery and the decor was delightful. We were bless with lovely weather during our stay so welcomed having the large windows open all night long. The bathroom was spacious and try towels and dressing gowns fluffy! Our view onto the grounds was charming. Our visit was slightly different to the one that we had anticipated, as we had just recently discovered that we were expecting. Not only did this mean I couldn't sample the generous lashings of seafood and white wine on offer, but it also meant we couldn't try out the spa, and we didn't manage breakfast any day as my eating patterns were all out! Saying that both looked more than welcoming. The position of the hotel is excellent, it really couldn't be closer to the heart of Saint Martin, but with the really feel that you are staying in the heart of the French countryside. Beyond all of the above was the friendliness of all the staff. From my many pre-visit emails to borrowing umbrellas, nothing was too much trouble! We will be back to use one of those family rooms!

Fantastic hotel, great location, staff is super friendly and nice. Lots of charm both the hotel and the surroundings. Loved it!

We have just spent five fabulous, relaxing days at La Baronnie the last visit being eight years ago. The property oozes charm , the staff were all superb , and the owners delightful. If your preference is a modern ,beige /grey generic hotel with efficient but detached staff this is not the place for you. We will not be leaving it another eight years before we return.

Beautiful hotel, in the perfect situation for a visit to the Ile de Re. All of the staff are very friendly and helpful. As wonderful as the hotel and the Ile de Re are, and they are wonderful, it’s the hotel team that make your experience truly memorable. Nothing was too much trouble throughout my stay. I arrived significantly earlier than I had indicated when booking, not a problem, had access to the car park, and as it was ready, my room from early in the morning. There is a lot of outside space in which to relax, which is remarkable given its location a few steps away from the port. I enjoyed the bar each evening before and after dinner, where the welcome was always warm and the cocktails first rate. (try the Strawberry Daiquiri and the “Regroni”). I have booked again for September, as next Summer feels way too long to wait before another visit. I do have some photos but they don’t really do the place justice, you need to visit.

We were 4 couples celebrating 2 birthdays and had a fabulous 3 night stay at La Baronnie. The pre arrival support was great from help booking airport taxis to booking and recommending restaurants. La Baronnie is a hidden gem of cool understated old school luxury. Each room is unique and luxurious with fluffy pillows, high quality mattresses and crisp sheets. The garden and outdoor pool were superb and tranquil when we needed to retreat from the busy harbour, 2 minutes walk away. The staff were all so smiley and welcoming and the owners are also around to give a very friendly greeting. Veronique was simply superb and we all had the most memorable stay. Breakfast is a must do at least once as is the great cocktail bar - many visits!

Amazing hotel. We stayed in the Baron room which exceeded our expectations. The cleaning team were fantastic as it was exceptionally cleaned everyday. The pillows and bed were super comfy. There was private bike storage which was handy. The bar and garden area is a beautiful space to relax. The reception and breakfast staff were all friendly and helpful apart from one receptionist. He came across rude and sarcastic every time you asked a simple question, like we were bothering him (how outrageous of us to ask where to get coffee in the port or how much a taxi is to the airport). Unfortunately he was on reception every morning and could not be avoided. We still did not want to mark down to 4 stars, as that would not be fair to the rest of the staff who were amazing. Would definitely stay here again.
