Great location next to the slopes. Food and drink were varied and the all inclusive deal made it excellent value for money. Beds could have done to be wider but apart from that, a great stay.

This was our third consecutive stay at Les Arolles. There’s a lot to like, and the experience has improved year-on-year, but there are still a few rough edges that hold it back from being truly excellent. Pros Genuine ski-in/ski-out location, fantastic access to the slopes and right next to the Cairn ski lift. Food quality has improved since 2023, feels more gourmet with better variety. Spa facilities included, and good to see the Jacuzzi pump issues from 2023 finally fixed. Friendly and helpful staff across the board. All-inclusive upgrade is worth it if you ski back for lunch and enjoy drinks throughout the week. Crystal Ski pricing remains very competitive compared to other options in Val Thorens. Cons Food and Jacuzzi temperature could still be warmer which is a recurring issue over the years. Bar gets extremely busy between 6–7pm which results long queues and not enough staff on shift. Boot room is manically busy in the mornings, no space to hang coats while putting on boots, and it quickly becomes overcrowded. No adult-only areas in the bar or restaurant, bevenings can be loud with kids running around. Hotel is geared mostly toward French guests there is no evening entertainment in English. Room quality is hit or miss. In 2024, we were stuck in Room 137, directly above the delivery bay. We were woken most mornings by deliveries and trolleys as early as 5am. No privacy unless the curtain was drawn which made the room very dark. MMV dismissed the issue as snow-clearing, which clearly wasn’t the case. Room deposit refunds are slow, it can take a week or more to get the money back. On our last night in 2025, the hotel unexpectedly changed the drinks menu and reduced what was included in the all-inclusive package. This led to a frustrating back-and-forth between reception, bar staff, and ourselves until they agreed to honor what we originally paid for. Not the way you want to end a week-long stay. In 2025, we requested a quieter room in advance and the hotel honored it. The result was a much better, more restful stay with a lovely view. Neutral / Average Rooms are a bit dated but functional. Shower had hot water but poor pressure. Separate toilet, and no power sockets near the bed. Room assignment still feels like pot luck, unless you specifically request in advance. Tips All-Inclusive Upgrade (2025): €189 per person which is a big jump from €119 in 2024. It might now be cheaper to pre-book through Crystal Ski instead of upgrading at check-in. Book spa access the day before, ideally during breakfast or you'll risk missing out. Coordinate room preferences in advance, especially if you're travelling with others or want to avoid noisy areas. Final Thoughts Les Arolles continues to offer solid value for money and a prime location for skiing in Val Thorens. It gets a lot right — but with better room consistency, improved bar service, and more thought for non-French guests, it could easily become a five-star experience. We’ll

Hotel is ideal for what you pay, nothing overly fancy but you know that when booking, When you compare the price to other hotels in VT you know what you're paying for. Rooms are small, but common for ski resort. Had a nice mountain view. Lockers are handy, ski in ski out, ski lift outside the door, bus stop outside. It is a great location. We were half board, breakfast catered for Gluten free which was great, dinner didnt have as many options for gluten free. Different dinner options daily although we went out some nights for a change. Couldnt complain, seating area and bar also. Could be noisy at nights with people coming home, walls are thin. Wifi was good. Would return and stay again. Sheets and towels werent changed every day, and by the time we returned from skiing we couldnt find any to replace. they were probably replaced every 2 days. Not the worst and would still return

I was part of a group of 6 who stayed here late February. The hotel was fine, there are lots of negative reviews but i personally didnt have any major issues. Pros The hotel is ski in, ski out. Boot room leads right onto a blue run (can get quite busy there in the mornings) The food was what you would expect from an all inclusive buffet. Plenty of options, tasted fine, nothing overly fancy but it does what it says on the tin. (5 out of 6 of my group liked it) The bar is grand, plenty of drink options and all inclusive helps in the alps where you could be paying €14 a pint... Staff were all very friendly and helpful. They put a fair shift in and do a really good job. They all look like they are having a great season and enjoy what they are doing. Rooms were an okay size, but small but fine for a week, they were clean and i did not have any issues. If you need a hairdryer, ask at the reception. Cons The corridor leading to my room smelled like cigarettes (floor 2), and the shower drain was a bit smelly at times. Was fine when the water was on though. The spa is very small and the hot tub water was only warm. Too many people allowed to use it at the same time in my opinion. It wasnt relaxing for me. Other Bootroom is really tight and busy at times but this is just an observation, ca t really say it was a con. The hotel is set up for French guests (as it should be being in France) just be aware of this as the entertainment etc is all in French. It is also a very family focused hotel, again not a con if you have kids, I dont have kids and prefer kid free places, it didnt stop me booking and i would probably stay here again when its not French half term. If you are expecting 5* and everything to be perfect all the time, spend more and stay somewhere else. If you love skiing (wont be spending all day, every day in the hotel), have kids, like all inclusive, friendly staff, clean hotels and decent food then here will to the job.

We've just returned from a week staying at the MMV Les Arolles. Family of 4, including 2 teenagers. We are very positive about the hotel; great location on the slopes, friendly staff, great food, entertainment, rooms warm and clean. We would go back. We have tried other full board Crystal ski locations like the Diva in Tignes and Golf in Les Arcs. We were very impressed with the food options, certainly the best we have seen for vegetarians in a French ski hotel. We liked to get there for start of the food service, you got a full range of options and it avoided queues, although the queues were never that bad. Indeed, if they placed the breakfast pancakes somewhere else then it would halve the queue for people who didn't want pancakes. The rooms are on the smaller side but some thought has been put into the storage options and once you sorted out your stuff then it was no big deal. We also got adjoining rooms with a connecting door and this is certainly way better than having to go out and in. No trouble with noise from other rooms or from the street (we were on a lower floor). A lower floor also meant that you could walk down the stairs to dining room, rather than waiting on the lifts. The Cairn gondola delivers you right outside and this was a better option for getting back than skiing down from the Plein Sud lift and run. Summary - we will be back.

Just got back from a week in VT and staying at MMV Les Arolles. 4 Englishmen in their 30s, no kids, just there to ski/snowboard. After reading some of the reviews below prior to going, we were expecting to have a nightmare of a time, but honestly I do not understand these reviews. The hotel was great. Yes the rooms are small, but its a typical French ski hotel. Smaller than average rooms, no kettle etc. in the room, small bathroom, and single beds pushed together. But the beds were super comfy, the rooms warm, good pillows/duvets, a nice hot powerful shower... for the price, I can't complain. Location wise - you walk out the ski store room, and you're on the main slope within 10 metres. There's also one of the main gondola lifts joined to the hotel, so returning at the end of the day is great - ski/snowboard either directly to the hotel door if you're on one side of the mountain, or go to the bottom of the slope, get on the lift, and arrive back at your door if you're coming down the other side - perfect location! Let's talk food. The buffet far exceeded expectations. Freshly cooked food each day, different menu each time, and things you would not expect to see - e.g. the night where they did steaks. Shout out to Franchesco at the pizza station who made a custom pizza most evenings for our Vegan friend, he really appreciated that. Equally the dedicated veggie section each night really helped for his dietary requirements. Breakfast was decent, but I would have liked to see maybe hash browns/potato tots in the cooked section - that's just personal preference! Lunch... the wraps were a great midday treat, and the paninis too! Entertainment... Now this is where I was surprised. We arrived and didn't realise it was French school half-term week... so there were a lot of families. I thought it would be a nightmare, but actually it turned out pretty good. The afternoon/evening entertainment schedule was fantastic - and the French entertainment staff, and the locals, all tried to get us involved and speak English where they could. Outside playing Kuub, Boccia, or just having mulled wine around the fire... and then inside for the evening shows... it was fantastic. I was genuinely impressed that they had 11 entertainment staff for a hotel of this size, and the quality of the evening shows was excellent. Even though we didn't always understand what was going on due to the shows being in French, it was still entertaining nonetheless. Pool tables in the lobby were great - FYI 2 euro coins needed per game. Also shout out to the bar staff - always a good laugh dealing with the brothers! Overall, I definitely recommend the MMV for travellers. We are already looking at dates/options to go back next year.

Just had a week in this hotel. Rooms are clean, beds made every day, towels every two days. Very quiet (we were on 2nd floor). Reception staff were very helpful. Food is buffet style plenty of choice for everyone great salad and Charcuterie for starters. Different nationalities main course. Breakfast was fantastic. Coffee was a bit hit n miss. Spa was nice but hot tub was not very hot, but Sunna and steam room is great. But you can only use 3 times a week for free. Evening entertainment every night looked good for the kids. In house ski shop was fantastic we had trouble with a pair of boots which the staff were very helpful with. Boot room was busy in the morning but didn’t take long to get boots and skis out. Boot heater didn’t work every day, as Floor is wet in boot room. Ski in ski out is fantastic, straight on to the slopes. You can get a lift back to the hotel right next to the boot room or go high on slopes and ski back to boot room.

Lots of criticism from other reviewers. This is a very French hotel . The rooms aren’t huge and it isn’t exactly luxurious but for the cost we really liked it . They must have changed the towel policy because we got clean towels when we wanted them . The location is great . No carrying of skis . Rented from next to boot room. No waiting for buses and then queuing for cable cars to get up the mountain . Just ski straight out, the location next to the cable car also meant you could get back that way too. The hotel is full and the buffet room can be busy at peak times but it didn’t cause us a problem . We liked the food . Fresh cooked pizzas and lovely ice cream plus a number of choices of meals and deserts every day. Great salades and the usual local specialities . We came back for lunch and the food was always different . Cake at 4.00. The hotel is great for children with a number of clubs and activities . The entertainment was done , I guess, by the children club staff . Two quizzes and karaoke and two dance shows . The shows were more dance school then west end but we appreciated how hard these young people were trying. All the staff we met were very helpful . Particular mention to the morning egg man for a perfectly cooked egg !

Hotel doesn’t look like the pictures. Beds slide apart and are v. Small. Location is good for slopes but not as convenient as other hotels right in the centre if you’re wanting to go to the shops/ bars / restaurants. Tables aren’t relayed for breakfast and food not replenished. Evening food is average. Don’t change towels even when left on the floor they just hang them back up. Room gets really warm at 2am, heating is controlled centrally. Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Premier inns at home are better, far from 4*’s
