Spent a beautiful weekend here. Just far exceeded our expectations. The property was impeccable. Old world charm with the wood throughout. The owners are so friendly and the staff were just amazing. Loved the food also and of course their family cabane a sucre. We are going back!

Room was cozy and clean, service was great, view on river was very nice, will be great in the summer.. Sugar shack was delicious, meatballs to die for and maple syrup is very good. The carriage ride to sugar shack was nice cuddled up with my wife.

We were there for a my wife's 60th birthday.First of all you list it has having a free breakfast!!! No free breakfast here!! A very expensive one at $30 a head !! We booked the place for the food and the availability of a spa. The food was 😞 mediocre. My wife had a salmon dish which was excellant. I had a dish of shrimps clams and mussels. Which was terrible. The shrimps and the accompanied pasta were tasteless and the clams and mussels almost non-existant.The second night we tried the meat dishes.my wife had a pepper steak which was as hard as a rock.i had the duck dish which was ok but not spectacular definatly not 5 star and over priced.The spa was not available the second day. They told us just as were going in to enjoy it that something in the whirlpool was broken and because of that we couldn't use the sauna either!!! Very strange.After we checked out they said we could have a free breakfast due to that inconvenience. Way too little and way too late.Another thing when we arrived at the hotel I asked if it might be possible to have a room looking over the Richelieu they said yes but it would be another $40 a night evan though the hotel was almost empty! The point here is when you psy big money for a classy weekend experience you have a right to expect top notch quality. This was definatly lacking here. They seem to be out to make as much money as possible.poor customer relations and a very mediocre restaurant.

We spent an excellent two nights at Auberge Handfield. The room was as comfortable and carefully appointed as we remembered from previous stays. We would never have guessed the pool would be open and usable in October! It was ready to go along with the outdoor hot tub. We thoroughly enjoyed dinner the first night and breakfast both mornings. Staff is friendly and helpful!

Welcoming, unique accomodation. We had river view, unfortunately other members of our group had "inn view" which faces onto a busy road. There was a beautiful wedding that weekend so room choice was imited. I enjoyed the outdoor pool with marina view, a hot tub and restaurant. I was trying to eat Quebecois food.....and creme brule was the last item on my list to try. Unfortunately it wasn't as good as I had hoped! Canadian pea soup and the mushroom starter were very tasty. All staff we encountered were 10/10. Would love to return.

What a great accommodation! The staff is very kind and professional! I easily found the room I rent with their informations. The area is nicely maintained and the rooms are comfortable! I just discovered the presence of the spa and didn't know about when I reserved.

Our space was delightful with a balcony over the Richelieu river. The beds were super comfy with lots of pillows, and there was good storage space. The staff were friendly and efficient. We would go back in a flash. Still, for a perfect stay, we would need: little containers of real coffee cream in the fridge rather than the fake stuff; and a grab bar or even a studded bath mat to make it safe to get in and out of that wonderful tub. The big problem was when we arrived home near midnight on our second night (of three) and our key cards refused to work. Luckily, the clerk was working late because of a wedding, and she reprogrammed them, but normally she wouldn't have been there.

Quaint and cute inn outside of the city, provides a peaceful weekend getaway for couples. Upon arrival reception staff were courteous and polite, explaining the layout of the inn and directions to our room very well. The room itself was clean and spacious with a view of the river (there is a balcony, but being the winter we did not go out on it). The queen bed was comfortable as well. We had also dined at the on-site restaurant where we enjoyed a delicious meal. Food was tasty and fresh, and the rustic decor made it for a very enjoyable experience. Breakfast was also included in our package and it was just as good as the dinner service. Wait staff were polite and attentive so no complaints dining on site. Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay at Auberge Handfield and would highly recommend it to those seeking a quiet getaway from the city.

Cozy and beautiful Auberge, wonderful staff and waiters at the restaurant. We got married here and just came back to celebrate our Anniversary. The perfect weekend getaway. The room was very clean and well-equipped and we enjoyed the gorgeous view on the river.
