I arrived in the early evening, checked in and went to the room. I opened the door and was about to step inside when I saw there were used towels on the floor. I initially thought perhaps the room hadn’t been cleaned yet but then I noticed a man’s underwear lying around. I don’t know if the owner of the underwear was still there as I immediately shut the door and went back to reception. However, the room was clearly occupied and it is only by pure luck I didn’t walk in on someone just getting out of the shower. The receptionist was very apologetic and immediately offered an upgrade, however this was very unnerving for me, as a woman travelling solo. I didn’t sleep, thinking every noise in the corridor outside my door might be somebody about to come in, having been given the wrong room key. I may not travel every week for business but I do travel a fair bit and I have never had an experience like this. It might not have been quite so shocking in a less reputable hotel chain. I still don’t have an adequate explanation as to how this happened and what steps will be taken to ensure it doesn’t happen again, as such, it has put me off Radisson (and hotels in general as, from now on, I will always be nervous of the situation recurring and having some random stranger burst into the room.

Very stylish interior and quite large with its 6 floors. Gorgeous terrace and very quiet despite its location very near the train station... Also good breakfast for CHF 19.- plus convenient overnight parking for CHF 25.- The only two drawbacks to note are no scrambled eggs for breakfast and the fitness center covering almost one floor features only one bike... (yes!)

El NewStar Hotel es un hotel fantástico. Las habitaciones son limpias y tempranas. El personal es amable y agradable. El gerente Urs es un verdadero caballeros. Espero que todos reserven este hotel y estoy seguro que tendrá un maravilloso viaje en St. Gallen!

This is a lovely place that feels away from everything. It has spacious air-conditioned rooms with plenty of closet spaces and plenty of hangers (what a treat!) besides having a good nice size bathroom with a great shower. The beds are firm and with many elevators. The rooms also have balconies facing green fields with nice paths, swimming pool and lounging areas. Very peaceful. The breakfast is good and the staff courteous. What else can you ask for? There are buses a little way outside the hotel, so if one does not have own transportation this could be a drawback though. Recommended.

Wir hatten im November ein Apartment gebucht, im Dezember erhielten wir die Info, dass das Appartement aus technischen Gründen nicht buchbar sei, es wurde uns ein Studio Apartment Junior Kitchenette Balcony angeboten. Dies hatten wir dann auch gebucht. Check in mit Code in der Parkgarage sowie im Studio ohne Probleme. Kommunikation via Mail reibungslos. Wir hatten eine weitere Decke gewünscht, diese erhielten wir prompt. Reinigungsangestellte waren sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, vielen Dank. 1 x Wohnungsreinigung und Bettwäschewechsel, sowie Handtuchwechsel während unseres ein wöchigen Aufenthaltes. Studio war angenehm gross, alles da was man bracht, Geschirr für 2 Personen. Eine Pfanne und eine Bratpfanne, Herd, Mikrowelle, Geschirrspüle, weitere Extras um sich wohl zu fühlen, Bett bequem. Waren über Silvester dort, es war sehr ruhig, trotz guter Auslastung. Von den andern Gästen hörte man fast nichts, ausser wenn sie auf dem Balkon waren um zu rauchen, aber das störte uns nicht. Hotel liegt an einer viel befahrenen Hauptstrasse, jedoch sind die Fenster geschlossen, hörte man nichts. Es bestand die Möglichkeit zu verlängern, wir hatten dies in Betracht gezogen, jedoch die Witterungsverhältnisse der kommenden Tage hatten uns zur Heimfahrt bewegt. Da wir unsere Familie besuchten, war dies ideal, würden wir wieder buchen, auf jeden Fall, jedoch über die Homepage des Apartmentanbieters.

El estilo del hotel es moderno, la apariencia no tiene nada de especial, el hotel está muy limpio, el baño es muy bueno, la decoración de la habitación es muy general, incluso un poco fea, especialmente las cortinas. Pero lo importante es tener aire acondicionado. Para quienes viajen a Suiza a finales de junio, el aire acondicionado es muy importante. La mayoría de los hoteles en Suiza no tienen aire acondicionado. (35 grados duran hasta las nueve de la noche, en el interior suele hacer más calor que en el exterior). El desayuno es bastante satisfactorio y aceptable. Pero no hay ninguna sensación de ser atendido por el camarero en absoluto.
