Château Papounan

Three of us spent five nights at Chateau Papounan. The hospitality of Jacques and Sylvaine significantly enhanced our visit to the Medoc. The rooms were clean and were furnished in well-thought-out ways. Two of us shared the ground-level room that had an exterior door. We made good use of the kitchenette with its table, chairs, sink, cabinets, microwave/conventional oven, cooktop, refrigerator, dishes, and utensils. The bed was firm and comfortable. Everything in the bathroom worked well. We made daily use of the phone-charging pad. Outside was an electric charger for automobiles, and each evening Jacques plugged it into our electric car. The breakfasts were terrific, with a delicious assortment of tasty items. Sylvain and Jacques are delightful hosts. They were responsive and helpful throughout our stay.

We had a fantastic stay at Château Papounan. The location was great. The rooms are big and very well equipped and clean. In particular the service was outstanding. The breakfast was also fantastic.

Best locale Our hosts were wonderful, helpful and accommodating. the location was great. Our only complaint was the mattress…it may be the most firm one I have ever experienced and our friends staying there thought so as well. The breakfast was memorable and so was the area.

Ravis de notre halte au château de Papounan où nous avons reçu un accueil particulièrement chaleureux. La demeure en belle pierre calcaire est magnifique et décorée avec un goût certain : on s'y sent bien tout de suite. Nous avons occupé la chambre Domeyne qui donne sur le jardin : la chambre est lumineuse (sur l'Est), spacieuse et le literie s'avère confortable et raffinée. Succulent petit déjeuner avec des produits diversifiés et de qualité. Merci aux propriétaires, toujours aux petits soins avec nous, d'avoir fait de notre étape en Médoc, un moment bien agréable et mémorable, une vraie rencontre !
