Travelodge St Albans City Centre

I stayed here for 2 nights. Whilst here my digital key which is on the app stopped working. I rang up via the app and was immediately helped and able to get into my room. This might be a self service hotel but help is there if you need it.

Was told at time of booking in that the room I had paid for was no longer available so had to take one of the ‘service rooms’ instead due to it being late at night. Was only offered a free breakfast as compensation- no thanks, I want a refund as if I had been told at the time of booking and paying in full room was not available then I would have booked somewhere else!

This is not a hotel. No clean towels, no room clean. Customers should be aware. Digital check in did not work. So you go on to the screen video for assistance and they’re busy and you have to leave an email address - you’re just trying to check in! No one at the bar to help either. When I asked about the lack of room cleaning (digitally because there are no humans) I got an automated reply telling me everything was self service but this is no clear on booking or arrival.

Very nice short stay, 4 days. Very pleasant helpful staff and first class freshly prepared breakfast. Was visiting family, will come again soon. Centre of town easy to get around and within walking distance of railway station even though I'm disabled.

I had a great experience during my stay at Travelodge St Albans City Centre, and I want to give a special shoutout to two exceptional team members – Anastasios and Ian. They both went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and stress-free. Anastasios was incredibly professional, friendly, and always ready to help with a warm smile. He made the check-in process smooth and welcoming, which really set the tone for the rest of my stay. Ian was equally fantastic – attentive, courteous, and always willing to assist with any questions or needs I had. It’s clear that both of them truly care about the guests and take pride in their work. Their excellent service made a big difference and contributed to a very positive experience. Thank you, Anastasios and Ian – you're a credit to the hotel!

Absolute incredible service from Anastasia’s he has provided very good customer service and carried on serving drinks well beyond the regular curfew. I will definitely stay again. Incredible conversation and amazing customer service, actually helped me get the pay increase I needed. Loved my stay thank you very much
