Great price and great hotel. Review by Isabella below written as she’s no longer in a relationship with one of the staff members - hence she’s turned to slandering the place! 5* on food standards agency says all you need to know about the quality of the food here. Never had a bad meal and the hotel and pub is absolutely spotless. Highly recommend to everyone!

Convenient hotel for water centre, rooms are good and handy to be attached to the pub for food BUT they took the money out of my account three times instead of just the once. Then as had two more bookings for later on they started again last week taking the money again - it’s is a flex rate pay the day before arrival not months or weeks before because they just authorise taking it from my account whenever they want to -that concerns me and have therefore cancelled all future bookings with them. When you Call to discuss it the person who promised to call back didn’t so have given up with Gaston Lock as would rather keep my money in my account and grateful for bank alerts as nearly £500 taken that should not have been taken.

Amazing management team and staff 👏 and Beautiful inside ❤️ definitely paying extra for how it looks not the quality of food ! Poor hygiene in the kitchen chefs with dirt under there nails and no hairnets ! Who don't even shower once a week imagine and then there touching your food aswell ...Already 7 complaints of food posing as they don't check dietary requirements!

Booked the Gamston Lock as we were attending cricket at Trent Bridge. Arrived early on the Thursday. We were able to have breakfast & leave our car. The hotel is on the bus route to TB. Although understaffed, Tracey was brilliant. Coped so, so well. 10/10!!! The same would apply to those in the kitchen. Would certainly go back...

This was convenient for the water park where we needed to be. Plenty of other cheaper hotels about. This as as good as a Premier, clean and tidy, quiet with parking and a decent pub next door. It just felt a bit austere with the rooms colourings. We had a decent meal, not expensive, and a good night's sleep. All in all OK but but for the price we paid nothing special.

Went down for the Lock Fest, a fantastic afternoon of live music including live bands playing all types of music ,outside on a trailer. The choice of a superb BBQ chicken , beef, burgers,sausages or the usual full Sunday menu available inside. Lots of guest beers all served with a smile 😃 We'll done Terry and his team and we hope you carry on this great event in 2025

Stayed nearby but used pub for food. Evening meal eaten in restaurant - although “bar food” menu is available as well - we preferred to sit in restaurant. We all chose from the set menu, starter and main course. Food was delicious, all served promptly and efficiently. Definitely would eat here again. Pub has different events on like quizzes and live music - seems very popular with locals and visitors.

Great pub vibe and plenty of space for a family gathering, especially a big one, as we get all the generations together. There was plenty of outside space for kids and comfy seats inside for the oldies. The buffer food was hot and excellent plus the staff were super helpful.

We have a family reunion every year and this changed venue as the old one was disapointing and expensive for what it was, we can’t fault the Gamston Lock the buffet was absolutely super and they catered without fuss for a couple of children who are seriously allergic to some food even putting it out on a separate table away from the other food, the service was excellent the staff friendly and nothing too much trouble! We will most definitely come again next year and as my husband and I are local will visit regularly!
