Strand House

Myself and my 11 year old son stayed at this beautiful family friendly accommodation in April 24. It has been decorated carefully and In style with the character of the property it still retains its charming and original character that you would expect from a 13th century building. The moment we checked in we were met by a charming lady, Rossa, Alex and Kelly who own and run the business are two very friendly and welcoming hosts who take time to understand their guests, nothing is too much and the set up is perfect. We stayed in a room with a double and a single bed, the bathroom was spotless as was the room. (PERFECT) very comfortable bed and mattress. Breakfast was a delight and more than enough choice, and some very healthy options to be had if wanted. On our last evening my son and I decided on getting a takeaway, Alex and Kelly had set up a table with cutlery etc for when we returned with our food, such a lovely and thoughtful thing to do. No worries with parking as the premises have ample enough parking at the property. There is an honesty bar with a good selection of alcoholic drinks available and they are priced very reasonably too. The property also has a lovely looking garden area, with table and chairs outside to have a drink under the sunset or the stars. This is a gem of a property in such a lovely area and extremely close to all the main areas, Rye is a short walk away and the beautiful historic town of Winchelsea less than a 3 minute walk away. There are so many things to do in and around Rye, but I would strongly recommend staying at this beautiful and charming property.

This was our 2nd visit to The Strand and we were so pleased that 2nd time around it was as wonderful a stay as our first visit. It is a beautiful place, a real home from home. I really cannot fault anything about it, and Kelly and Alex are great hosts too. Rye is a very short bus trip away and it's lovely there. We are already planning our 3rd stay at The Strand before the Spring.

Strand House was a perfect venue for our family festive occasion. Interesting rooms (but watch your head on the low ceilings in the bedrooms) and a warm and cosy lounge with a log fire in the evenings. Excellent breakfast. Hosts were very welcoming and helpful in providing information about restaurants and activities. The venue and the hosts made our family get-together enjoyable and memorable. Thank you Alex and Kelly.

Our hosts were very welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. Large room, comfy bed and great breakfasts. Very convenient for Rye and a short walk to Winchelsea which is a lovely village and well worth a visit. We really enjoyed our stay and would return again if we were in the area.

Wow! From the moment we arrived till it was time for us to leave this beautiful gem of a place we could not have been happier with our choice to stay there. Kelly and Alex were warm and welcoming and gave us just the right amount of attention throughout our stay. The accomodation was exeptional, tasteful yet quirky and it had a real sense of it being a home from home with such warmth that seemed to ooze from within the walls. They have clearly put great thought and effort into creating a stay to remember and 1 which we will certainly want to repeat. Within minutes of arriving we felt relaxed. The gardens were stunning and as for the breakfast choices...yum yum! I couldn't recommend staying here more

Strand House is a delight. It’s steeped in history yet the rooms feel fresh, bright and have lovely touches throughout. Breakfast was really tasty, Alex and Kelly will happily cater for everyone. They have lovingly transformed the house and business since being the new owners and I wish them every success for the future. A short bus journey into Rye from a stop directly outside Strand House is a must. Rye is an ancient town full of life and quirky places to eat, drink and shop.
