Hôtel Mercure Roscoff Bord de Mer

We have stayed in Roscoff dozens of times before and I booked into the Ibis for 3 nights on arrival as we stayed there on our last visit. The staff at Ibis were lovely, they booked us a seaview room and we took our luggage up. I noticed immediately that everywhere was very tired looking, the room & bathroom were very small and there was no comfort in the room whatsoever. It was impossible to unpack, but the view was great as was the location. I had a terrible nights sleep, the bed was very uncomfortable. I got up in the morning and set off to find somewhere else to stay and came across the Mercure a couple of doors away. Elise was on duty, I explained the situation at Ibis and asked if they had a room. She showed me a lovely room which I accepted. She spoke perfect English and told me that the 2 hotels are part of the same chain. She phoned Ibis and told them I wanted to change hotels and sorted it all out with no issues at all. We had 2 wonderful nights (wish it had been the 3 nights) the location, the decor, our room looked like we were the first people to stay in it! beautifully appointed bathroom, comfy bed, spacious room, immaculately clean, the view, absolutely delicious breakfast in a stunning dining room, fabulous staff, especially Elise. We couldn't fault a thing. We will be returning again very soon, thank you so much for making our stay perfect.

Located right in the centre of Roscoff the hotel is surrounded by places to eat, places to visit and the quay. The Seaview room with a very private balcony was simply wonderful. And very special indeed. Fridge in room, large and comfortable bed, good linen, iron and board if wanted, usual toiletries, fluffy robes and slippers etc. The staff here are all, without fail, lovely, welcoming and very professional. The cleaning impeccable. Nothing ever was too much trouble. There is a lounge area, fitness room, and large breakfast area. A truly brilliant place to stay.

We were in Roscoff for just one night for our wedding anniversary, having arrived on the overnight ferry from Plymouth. The hotel was in a great location in the heart of the town and easy walk to local restaurants, bars and shops. Despite it being a Sunday, there was plenty of things to look at while we waited for check in. We'd booked a Superior room with Balcony as a treat and we weren't disappointed. The room was fairly small, but the bathroom was a good size and very nicely appointed and spotlessly clean. The balcony isn't massive, but spacious enough for the table and two chairs and we enjoyed sitting out there in the late afternoon, and a wonderful breakfast on there in the morning. The view is fantastic and the sunsets and sunrises are stunning. We went to sleep with the curtains drawn back so we could gaze at the stars and the door to the balcony open for a gentle sea breeze. Bliss. Every member of staff we met was warm and welcoming - easily switching into English at the first hint of our terrible (but we do try!) French. Happy to recommend and book restaurants for dinner as the hotel doesn't provide this. But we also enjoyed a drink at the bar on arrival and that was very pleasant. As we were booked on the return afternoon ferry we were also offered the option of a late checkout as the hotel wasn't full for the next night. We would happily return for another short break - Roscoff and the surrounding area is very pretty and if you enjoy walking then it is a great location.

Perfectly situated ,the outstanding ocean view from the dining area is the main attraction of this hotel situated in the hearth of Roscoff. The rooms are , quite small, comfortably furnished. Staff is polite and professional. Parking can be an issue because the hotel has no private parking area. Lots of eating places abound and we breakfasted at a bakery just opposite which was very good.

We found this to be a delightful hotel. Booked 2 rooms for 1 night. Arrived on an early morning ferry and after wondering what to do for breakfast we tried the hotel. Receiving us for breakfast was no problem for them., and what a super breakfast ( fruit, yogurt, cereals, chacuterie, hot food and delicious breads and pastries , juices, coffee and loose leaf tea) ) with a sea view. The receptionist, although busy with various duties, kindly took the initiative , without our asking, to find out that our rooms were ready despite official booking in time being in the afternoon. Both rooms were very clean, had picturesque views overlooking the church, and certainly not bijou as some reviews have said. Lovely touch of Nuxe products in the bathroom and water in the mini fridge.( water and snacks complimentary at reception as well) . All in all ,we found this hotel to be very good. Staff friendly, polite and professional. Great Location for ammenities and sea views. No problems with parking this October. Rooms comfy. Nighttime peaceful-the church chimes are silenced overnight and minimal traffic. We will definitely be back sometime.

A little late to the table as not used trip advisor this year but wanted to give this hotel what it deserved ! really super, quite small but intimate and the rooms are beautifully decorated . The hotel staff were wonderful and actually this has just prompted us to book a last minute revisit in september and really cant wait !!
