I had a terrible experience with the Evergreen and wouldn’t recommend them to my worst enemy. Luckily, I saved all the emails and can retrace my steps. To briefly summarize: I contacted them in March 2022, asking for a quote for rooms for ten nights in June. They quoted rates and requested a deposit of €230 to confirm the reservations. They do not accept credit cards and requested that I send an international bank transfer for that amount (my bank charged $45 to do this). I sent the €230 in dollars ($252) (their bank gave an incredibly low exchange rate, leaving only €209 for the deposit). Then, when I arrived at the hotel on 13 June, I was told that they had decided to cancel my reservation, apparently because they had booked the rooms to other customers for higher rates. In other words, their quoted rates, the successful effort that I made to get the deposit to them, and their acknowledgement that they had received the deposit for the requested rates, rooms, and dates was worthless. This is what is called “fraud.” Luckily, we were able to book rooms at a better hotel down the street for comparable rates. The managers of this hotel are clueless about how to run their business. They did not even offer an apology. This place is a rip-off, and the management is not to be trusted.
