This home is just a short 5-block walk from the beach and downtown Rockaway Beach. The large deck has comfortable seating around a gas fire pit and a gas barbecue.The basement ADU is used by the owners when on-site for maintenance/repairs, and is never occupied when guests are present. There are two security cameras on the property, focused on the front yard and side yard parking areas only. These cameras can only be accessed by the owners, and all data is deleted after 30 days.Rockaway Beach was a vacation spot before highways were established, bringing families in the 1920s to its expansive, sandy beach via train. A steam engine train still carries vacationers along a route with views of Tillamook Bay, Recreational possibilities include crabbing, clam digging, fishing, hiking, kite flying, kayaking, surfing, storm and whale watching, great beachcombing, and fun events year round.This part of the north Oregon coast is rich with charming little towns to explore.The historic town of Wheeler, famous for its antique shops, is on Nehalem Bay just 7.5 miles to the north. The Jetty Marina on Nehalem Bay offers crabbing and boat rentals. Tiny Nehalem, featuring a winery and several galleries, is 10 miles north, and the beautiful village of Manzanita, 12 miles north, offers great dining and shops. Just past the hiking and surfing mecca of Neah-Kah-Nie Mountain, the iconic city of Cannon Beach is just 26 miles north of us.Driving south 5 miles from Rockaway Beach, Garibaldi hosts a Maritime museum, historic steam train rides and myrtlewood factory, along with a pier and marina with everything you need for crabbing and clam digging on Tillamook Bay.
